Seriously.... Hmmm, I wonder why Brian Daboll has been the de facto OC of the 4th preseason game for the past two seasons?.....

Perhaps Matt Patricia is the heir apparent, if there is one at this early stage.
Losing both would be a real bummer.
Several things to consider on the possibilities of Josh leaving. As expected.
Actually in this regard I feel like we are playing with house money since he was a= strong candidate in the past 2 off seasons. Opportunities were there, maybe not the best ones, I think it was smart from his part to learn more under Belichick, if he indeed gets a HC job, he would do much better now than 2 years ago. These Patriots teams from the past 2 or 3 years, lots of rookies and undrafted rookies making the team, veterans being cut or traded, this has been a total coaching hands on experience, all the coaches on the staff should be thankful for being part of this project.
The ideal position for him would be somewhere with some talent in place that is underperforming (otherwise they wouldn't want to get a new coach), with a good front office and ideally a promising young quarterback. I could see Tennessee being a possibility. Maybe Green Bay? If he could bring his own quarterback and GM (like he tried to do last time) maybe the Rams? If nothing else, he would look like a genius compared to Fisher.
There were rumors that McDaniels was going to go to Tennessee this past offseason with Jon Robinson being named the GM. I don't think he even interviewed though. One thing to keep in mind - Belichick always advises his coaches to look for stable ownership that would support them. Tennessee is a mess right now; the NFL might make the Adams Family sell the team due to ownership structure problems that they have not yet resolved. You typically don't see unsuccessful head coaches get 3 chances, so McDaniels really needs to pick his landing spot carefully.
Lets hope it isn't Peyton Hillis"Sources with knowledge of the situation," aka his dog.
That's a recipe for ending up like every other coach in the NFL. The biggest thing Bill has proven is the importance of total control of the system.Josh should be ready to succeed. He might be better off at a place with a proven GM. The Jaguars have a number of good young players.
He needs to finish this season without getting distracted.
Yeah that'll be worth the effort.i call BS, he's not leaving
save this and bring it back up in the offseason if you dont believe me
Couple of things that were said that the media is ignoring to get a sound bite...IF the RIGHT opportunity presents itself. Josh clearly loves his job, loves the area, and is in a great situation right now. Incredible skill players and working with the GOAT QB again next week, with the best run organization in football. 2nd shots at being a HC are very rare and 3rd shots are unheard of so I am positive Josh is being very very careful with his decisions. Most teams looking for a new HC are the type of ****ty organization I am sure are crossed right off the list. The Browns, Redskins, and Lions of the league. The only type of job I could see appealing to Josh would be something like Cincinnati if they are tired of Lewis' mediocrity. Decent QB that could be coached up, an all pro WR and a generally underperforming team that just needs a few tweaks. Plus look at the job security, how many 8-8 seasons has Marvin Lewis survived? Short of that I think the Pro's of NE far outwiegh the Con's and Josh is going nowhere. As others have pointed out he does have a young family that loves the area so it's going to take a massive offer I do not believe he gets for another couple years.
