This was tough but as a black guy myself a lot of hate for cam newton is because he is black.

He just lost the biggest game of his life he should not have walked out but I understand this

also because he's a douche

too bad broncos d isn't afraid of a black qb

I'm half way through it and it sounds like a BB press conference to me.
LOL, I didn't see it, but I was thinking when reading the headline, "Nothing could top (or be lower than, I guess) BB's press conference following the game that shall not be named at the end of 2007."

I know Newton acts like a jerk sometimes, but really, how many of us would be at the top of our game after an embarrassing loss like that? A loss like that is crushing for the fans never mind the players. Some of us still can't talk about a SB that we were supposed to win.

Yeah that's pretty much a racist dog-whistle word when you throw around "boy"
Absolutely ... term was used back in the slave days to denote you're a boy ... less than a man to black slaves.
To call a black slave a man would be calling them equals ... they were not allowed to be equal ... thus a boy.

Facing the media after a loss like that has to be tough. But when he wins, it's gloating and words like "I" and "me". When he loses, it's sulking and words like "we". Like a lot of young men, he has a lot to learn better about how to conduct himself after wins and losses. Brady has always seemed to understand that.

funny how they're not all coming at russ like that, or teddy, or.........whoever else
I'm big into fantasy football, and the teddy hype was ridiculous this time last year

And u think bill romanowski has enough functioning brain cells to intentionally use passive/aggressive racial overtones/slurs????

I didn't dislike Cam Newton because he is black. I always liked the guy & Enjoyed watching him give away footballs to young kids.

After seeing him shy away from his fumble with the game on the line, I lost all respect for Cam Newton.

Not because he is black, because he is YELLOW !!!!!!

I cannot tell you how little I care about how players handle themselves in front of the media. It's been the most enjoyable year of football watching for me because I refuse to watch one minute of pregame, postgame, or other highlight shows. I started this simply as a reaction to the thugs in the NY office but ultimately started enjoying the games much more. I would just assume that Cam Newton or other players just give the media the finger and tell them to F off.

That's a douchebag for you. Gets in your face, dances, taunts you. But when he's losing, his head is slumped, his body language is piss poor, and now this. Brady doesn't walk out on pressers. He probably wants to, but doesn't. He also doesn't mope on the sideline when the team is losing like Newton does either. He tries to fire his guys up. Newton is a very good quarterback but he's an awful leader. When the chips are down, you can see who he really is.

Thought Newton's inflated ego and immaturity was on full display this week for all to see.. from ridiculing the NFL mandated pressers to his antics and gyrations on the field.

I think he is a good QB, but has turned into some sort of prima donna.. was not impressed at all yesterday.

Will be interesting to see if the Denver D calls him on his "whining" as they did Brady..

This will undoubtedly be the new narrative going forward and it will stick until he shows otherwise. The post game sullenness one can understand to a point but the in game body language was starkly revealing.
