Predictions for '16 FAs

They never learn

That is so true.

But can be good for us as well, I think for 2016, every team in our division except the pats is over the estimated cap by a substantial amount.

Some FAs I would like to see the Pats get potentially

Derrick Johnson - LB
Terrance Newman - CB
Ben Watson - TE

I don't think the Pats should invest a ton of money into a FA RB. If a good player comes in for fairly cheap like Lewis then fine.

I also don't see any middle of the road FA WRs I would particularly want and I don't think getting rid of Lafell a good move all things considered. Assuming Amendola plays balls and redoes his contract I don't see a big need there for a FA though I would draft a guy.

Maybe the OL could use a guy but do you give up on your young players and not give them a chance to grow? I don't think so.

I honestly doubt they cut any of them but cutting Amendola, Lafell and Cannon generates about $10 million cap room and chandler brings that up to about $13 million. Lafell is super cheap already and I think Amendola just redid his deal but I suppose both of those guys might renegotiate their contracts. I think pretty much any money they save they will try and use that money to extend their young guys.

I would love to see the Patriots sign Travis Benjamin. He is a real burner who could stretch the field & be our kick returner. I am sure Michael Lombardi will mention him if he feels he would be a good fit.

I wonder who is going to hit free agency, Peyton or Brock. I cant imagine they can keep both and everyone is now marveling at Peyton's handoff abilities

Payton will retire I suspect.

If Peyton does not get the NYJ QB job I think he retires. He needs a team with a great D, good OL and good play making WRs. If he goes to a team with any issues but QB he is gonna be exposed real quick and benched.

I can't see him wanting to be in cold weather and the pats division. As well setup as that team is, those are huge red flags to me.

He has to take a position he can win the division handily to give him a shot in January. The jets aren't that.

What team would over pay for a veteran running back?
The Pats did, a little, for the previously-mentioned Fred Taylor:

Fred Taylor

I don't believe that PasstheBlount is the answer at Power Back for even 2016; I would persue a replacement as soon as the new league year begins. Signing Chris Ivory would piss-off the Jesters, which is never a bad thing, but his injury history concerns me. Matt Forte would bring cashe', but at this stage of his career, he might be better-suited as primarily a 3rd-Down Back, but how much should you pay for that, especially when Jimmy White & Dion Lewis are already signed for 2016?

Joey Iosefa, however, might be the answer at FB for 2016. He also might be able to compete for snaps
at Short-Yardage/4-th Down Back.

How about Houston? Would Bill O'Brien adjust his offense for a year with Peyton at the helm? Is Peyton peeved enough at Irsay for letting him go that he'd want to compete directly against them twice a year (like Brett Favre did)?

i'd suggested that one before too, Houston plays in a dome obviously too and he could destroy tenn and jax for that stat padding that he likes.
