Any word on Chung and Amendola?

What am I missing? If Broncos beat the Bengals and then both win their last games, they both finish 12-4. If the Pats lose their last two, they finish 12-4. Broncos beat us because of head-to-head, while Bengals and Pats would finish with identical conference records. Then it would go to a further tiebreaker. It looks to me that the Pats need to win one more or Denver needs to lose one more for a bye to be ensured.

Pats already have #2 Seed regardless of the outcome of next 2 games. All they need to do is win one of next two to get #1 seed. This is regardless of what Broncos and Bengals do. Pats have tie break win over Bengals.

The next tie breaker after conference record is record against common opponents. Bengals lost to both Houston and Pittsburgh while the Patriots only lost to Denver. So regardless of what happens, the Patriots hold the tie breaker.

Thanks guys.

Amendola and Chung should be shut down until the playoffs. Both have been playing through injury. Let them rest. Other people will have to step up for the next two games. The Pats will need Amendola and Chung in the playoffs.

Getting difficult to rest the injured: Chung, Amendola, Hightower, Edelman, McCourty, Freeney, Chandler...

Then we will lose this week's game against the Jets, badly ...not sure if that's good for morale

While there is still something to play for (HFA) I dont envision them playing the remainder of the year.

Its about getting healthy for mid-January now.

Jets are playing for their playoff lives and their fans are getting all pumped up.

We'll need more than just two TDs if we want to win this one .... But I don't think we should deplete ourselves quite yet while we're still figuring out how well this team can play

I agree with you. Much rather have them healthy in January than risk re-injuries like we saw yesterday. Even if it means going up against a good Jets defensive front with WRs LaFell, Martin and Hankerson. There's a firm that rolls off the tongue...

I think if they're okay to play against the Jets, they need to, for a few reasons:

1) We still need one more win to guarantee HFA, and I don't want to leave that to chance in a divisional game on the road in Miami. The difference between playing the AFCCG here rather than in Denver is HUGE.

2) Assuming we beat the Jets, these guys can get three weeks off between sitting in Miami and the bye week.

3) Cincinnati sat their starters against a Jets team in 2010 that they ended up having to face in the playoffs, and the Jets beat them there too. Don't underestimate the power of a giving a team the belief that they can beat you. If the Jets were not in the playoff mix, I wouldn't care as much, but if they're coming to Foxboro in January, I want them as tight as possible.

I agree with everything you just said but I don't see a Patriots team losing to the Jets badly.

I agree but what choice do we have. Fortunately they have some depth at those positions.

Actually it was the Japanese that bombed us... just sayin'. Plus not sure anyone thought it was over since it pissed us off and we decided to nuke them. Twice.
I thought it was the Russians or maybe the French...yeah, that's it, it was the French.
