Easley to IR

Easley's running out of chances. Not his fault though. Just can't stay on the field. Idk how this affects our dl depth. Didn't look all that bad
He's still our by far best interior DL rusher. So not exactly someone you release. Is it someone that you will really have to hesitate before giving a second contract with big guarantees? Yes, definitely. Is it someone that is on the verge of running out of chances and being released? Not even close.

Check out Hightower

That can't be right, my frame is able to support one massive muscle. Sorry couldn't help myself.
Yeah, but your brain is supported by your neck, so it's not as rough on your knees. :p

These injuries.:( just make it stop already

Well he was a lot healthier this year than last year. Hopefully that trend will continue. Maybe this injury was not serious and they want to be sure next year he is far removed from any serious injuries.

As for DT i would love to have Easily but DT is pretty stacked right now and once Hightower comes back you will not lack for pass rush options.

The depth on the front 6 is pretty crazy and besides Collins and Hightower I don't consider any 1 player irreplaceable.

Brown has really started to come on as of late and Hicks/Branch have had monster games and made the solid Siliga an after thought. Grissom has not had a chance to get on the field but showed well in limited snaps.

I would expect for pass rush situation move Jones to the inside and Grissom as a DT pass rusher. You can alternate those on occasion. Not to mention Hicks surprisingly for his size has been able to get to the QB pretty well recently.

So which starter is going down to injury next week? Lets be honest, how can we expect anything else? So place your bets people.

And don't give me that "bad karma" nonsense.

This is disappointing since Easley is one of their most disruptive lineman.

Have to think that the injury is either more severe than initially expected and/or would not mend without rest.

Unfortunately due to all of the injuries at other positions they may have elected to play it safe with a promising player at a position with good depth and take the loss there instead of shallower positions on the roster.

No doubt. I am not talking about him being released. I am talking about keeping him without affecting the cap.

THis injury hurts....d%#*!@t

Listen he's great but he can't catch a break with these injuries. What can he do to stay healthy one year?

dude has two sacks this year.

Thats good enough production for the amount hes getting paid right now, if he has another IR year next year the chances of them picking up his option is slim to none.

Damn, he's snakebitten. And he was having a good year.

No long term effects? What does that even mean at this point in the year? "Yea, his leg didn't have to be amputated, so he should come back with both legs next season."

Easley needs Guerrero ........

That kind of sounds like talking about possible releasing him. I still don't see the problem. The absolute most we could save by letting him go is $1.4M in 2017. That's not a lot of money. He doesn't have any big cap hits because he's still on his rookie contract.
