Officially, Tom Brady now has a higher career passer rating than Peyton Manning for the first time since (I believe) 2011.

Manning has 197 wins (186 regular season, 11 playoffs). Brady has 190 wins (169 regular season, 21 playoffs.) If Manning were to miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs, Brady has a fighter's chance to surpass him this year. Manning has 92 career losses. Brady has 55 career losses. Brady could match Manning with a 7-37 record over his next 44 games.

However, Brady will never, ever pass Manning in ESPN's QBR ranking, a secret and subjective system so intelligent and ground breaking that it's often mistaken as laughable agenda-driven garbage.

Manning came back to pass Favre. He has now passed Favre.
It's almost bizarre how the wheels completely fell off the moment he got the record. It's like he was so putting everything into that, that the moment it happened his body said, "ok, we're done."

Laugh at him now, but we have been witnessing the greatest rivalry in football history. A notch below Russell-Chamberlain and Williams-DiMaggio. Will be sad to see this rivalry end.
In all three cases, one rival has all the numbers; the other has the titles.

Kind of hard to compare them right now as Manning's career is over and Brady is only half way through his.

Even Brady isn't that optimistic. ;)

Oh yeah?

When they ask him ten years from now I'll bet he says he plans on playing ten more years
He can say that but we all know he has realistically maybe 5 left.

Brady is one step closer to passing Peyton Manning as GOAT ;)

Manning has all the numbers. Really? You mean, he has more passing yards and TDs because he has thrown more passes. Other than that, Brady has all the numbers AND the titles regular season and postseason.

I've been following the same stats. Interestingly, Brady is 10 wins away from reaching 200 career wins (including postseason). No QB has ever hit that benchmark before. Manning is only 3 wins away so until yesterday it seemed like a forgone conclusion that Manning would hit it first. But now there's an outside shot for Brady.

It's absolutely hilarious that the only reason he came back this year was to pad his stats, and his stats are god awful this year.
The problem of an old man coming back to pad his stats is that it works for cumulative stats like passing yardage but blows up for calculated or percentage based stats like QB rating.

I disagree.

I'd say this "rivalry" has been more like "Globetrotters-Generals"
