I would agree.. He is NOT a Revis/Talib.. but a solid and very coachable player.
Easily as good as a gimpy talib lol

If this ends up being wrong I will feel so deflated. (its been a phrase forever so dont even)

I'm not that familiar with Jason McCourty, would he step in and be our number 1 cb or is he more of a number 2 or number 3?

He would be our #1 after he gets comfortable here.

He is pretty good. Not shut down but a #1 CB.

Not as good as Talib or Revis but arguably in the next group below.

ZOmg if we don't get Calvin I'm so done with krafty Bob. Like really just trade seven first and make it happen!!!1!1

We needed a CB regardless of their perceived ranking as a #1, #2, or #3. If Jason to the Patriots does happen, then we're in a much safer place than before.

Too early to tell, he'd definitely be a #2 if healthy, however we need to see how he plays with decent players around him. he's got potential to be #1, as he was better then devin when devin played CB before shifting to safety

Congrats, you just won the Straw Man of the week award.

I'd love to be wrong, because he is about the best option out there, and it is a great story to have them both on the team. But I don't see how the "numbers" can be worked out. Unless they are reworking someone's contract to add a couple of million in cap space.

Too bad the Pats can't go to Devin to lower his cap number (can't adjust a contract within the first year), LOL, I bet he would do it.

Not allowing myself to get too excited yet. Need to hear from a more legit source. But if so it is a great move that can really help shore up the position. Lots of upside.

I'm waiting to see a bunch of new tweets on my feed, that's always meant something big happened with the Pats, lol...

First it was one person. ME Second, it was more jokeingly put together with a nahhh at the end. If this team was desperate to get a CB I Was thinking of a crazy option.

We know what we have with CJ Thanks.

I wasn't even singling out you. I've heard it mentionee several times in other threads . but I agree with you on the whole

If we get Jason, he will be the perfect person to play Ty Law on Manning. Switch Jerseys at Half time lol.

The your-twin-brother-plays-here-how-awesome-would-it-be-for-you-to-play-with-him discount?

Wonder if it would work both ways...

Is BB reading this thread or what? I think someone in here was the first to ever bring the idea up. I thought it was far fetched, but it is gaining traction. He is not great but solid and he does not give up easy catches.

I think he can be great. He definitely has the athletic ability and the hips to run with wrs

Is there any rule against that? :D

Take it for what it worth, 98.5 Jimmy Stewart said he has spoken to two sources in the Pats and the trade for McCourty is basically done for a 4th and 6th. They are just working his salary under the cap.
It would be a WONDERFUL LIFE if Jimmy Stewart is right about this.

I would be happier if there was someone with some more size available. The ideal solution would have been to have been to have won the Devin Breaux auction. But of the people available he'd be worth a 4th and 6th skill wise, and immediately improve the depth at CB.

BTW- I'm not unhappy with our CB's right now, but any injury to Ryan or Butler would be disastrous. This way we might be a bit better with Ryan, Mccoury and Butler as our 3 starters, and if any one was injured we could survive it.

Really"? Wow Not surprising..... Granted if they felt he was not able to be fit in with the other needs/extensions/contracts I can see them passing as he will command big bucks on the open market. But logically they should lock him up sooner if they can.
