OT: The Broncos D really capitalized on Aaron Rodgers biggest weakness...

I said in the other thread that Rodgers is the wrong QB to go against the Denver defense. Rodgers likes to extend plays. To beat an aggressive defense like the Broncos, you need to get rid of the ball quickly and attack the soft spot in between the d-line and the secondary.

Keeping Rodgers in the pocket is part of the way they made him even worse, but the Packers are a vertical offense and you need to beat this defense by short, quick passes.
I hope you are right. The Broncos' D looks to be a very tough out. On the other hand, I could not understand everybody picking Green Bay for that game. Yes, Manning has looked bad, but he's also done enough to win each week, he had a bye (to rest and prepare a good game plan), the Broncos were home (a really tough place to play) and Green Bay doesn't play as well on the road as at home. I thought the Broncos were going to win from the get-go. And for every one saying the AFC is soft, we still have 3 undefeated teams and the NFC is down to one.

In hindsight, it was silly to pick the Packers, but not for the reason you say. It is just a bad match up for the Packers and the Packers play like crap on the road. Aaron Rodgers holds onto the ball way too long and the Broncos have the outside rushers to keep him in the pocket.

green bay's offense has scored a grand total of 174 through 7 games. NE has scored 249. our offense and green bay's are world's apart.

I was including this sentiment in my "tough place to play" and "don't play as well on the road" statements, but I agree. I was focusing on the fact that everyone proclaimed Manning "done" and was expecting him to do nothing against GB. He looked better last night, but apparently it was 70 degrees there too.

I feel like Broncos pass rush wasn't that great. It was more of fantastic coverage and Rodgers unwilling to challenge it. Pass rush was solid but I don't know if I'd say they were dominant. Seems like Broncos just wanted to keep him in the pocket like Pats did last season. Gotta give it up to them, worst Rodgers has looked since...
Patriots vs. Packers - Game Recap - November 19, 2006 - ESPN

I've been saying this on the boards lately, Aaron Rodgers is not playing well lately. He's holding on to the ball, scrambling and getting hit too much. With the Broncos outside pass rush and speed this was a match made in heaven for the Broncos defense.

Saying that this is a very good defense. Talib is playing out of his mind now.

I do think we match up well with them, Gronk is a matchup nightmare, Ward can't cover for s*it, you can't put Talib on him because he's an outside guy and Gronk blocks so much it's a waste. Talib has trouble with speedy inside guys like Edelman so you'll put him on Lafell and Brady will just go to Edelman/Gronk/Amendola/Dion. Tehy'rea bit thin in the middle so Blount will give them headaches. I love the matchup for us in later this year.

Manning looked great, but keep in mind that Denver LOST their CB1 and CB2 early in the game, and you've got Demarious Thomas and Manny Sanders out there in mismatches - and what does that do to the next level, where Owen Daniels ran wild?

You mean GB?

Their defense is insanely good but the media is naturally forgetting about how pedestrian their offense and Manning have been. He had a good game. He's still going to be capable of doing that. But, for the most part, Father Time has been his match.

Without being able to bug the opposing teams locker room, deflate the balls and video from the sideline, how can the Pats hope to win in Denver?

GB offense:

PPG: 10th
YPG: 28th

They kinda suck. What do you know, losing an elite weapon ruined their offense. People thought Rodgers would be unphased by this, nope.

I think we need to get mason and stork back at center. I like andrews and he has been good but i want stork. We have to find a running game against that team.

Let's hope for cold, windy, snowy evening on 11/29.

I suppose they'll just try to do what they usually do when foiled in this manner - come up with a good game plan and score more points than the other team...:)

Rodgers biggest weakness: His inability to complete a pass less than 10 yards.

didn't manning just come off of a bye week? if so he had two weeks to rest his arm. thats not happening the rest of the way.
You forgot to add that one good game does not a season make. Lets wait and see how Forehead does after a few more games before we crown his azz with being the manning of old. I know the media won't but we can.

I think the bye week allowed him to rest his arm. He doesn't go from having a dead arm for most of the season to reverting back to himself overnight. At least not for more than a game or so.

I don't like manning but he was very good last night. Rodgers was garbage
