Richardson guarantees jets victory over the Pats

Na. Many here agree with my take as well. But I do certainly appreciate your opinion. Even a couple guys on Jet forums agree with ya.
"Many" here agree with you? How many? Since our opinions on this matter are diametrically opposed, I doubt you appreciate mine. I think yours is ridiculous.

Eh, it'll be newsworthy when Richardson says or does something that isn't stupid. Hell of a football player though.

After the trash coming out of the Jet's locker room the past few years under Rexy, I don't really have an issue with what this asshat has to say. If the Pats can gain motivation from it then fine, but it is nice not to have to put up with circus from the past few years. Settle it on the field.

Ha, sorry man.

I suppose a bit. Guess it would've been better w/o the first line of "this is gonna be another win for us".

So yeah, perhaps a little smack talk. But hardly a guarantee.
Trash can your " Sorry man" BS. He's a prototypical Jets jackass who's too dumb to know any better.

All he really stated is that the Jets aren't approaching this game as their Super Bowl. He's saying that, instead, this is just another game and they all expect to win. What kind of team would you expect to go into a game publicly stating they were going to lose? I know I wouldn't want to root for a team like that.

I hate the Jets as much as anyone here. Probably more than everyone here except for Joker and Tunescribe. But this is no guarantee of victory.

It ain't even a semi guarantee of a victory. This is barely more than a platitude.

Who cares. Honestly. May the best team win. Pats are home they are going no huddle and playing fast because while the Jets D is big they are not very fast and athletic sans Revis.

Jets will try to hit them at the line and force TB to beat em deep. On offense they ll run the ball and pass to Marshall.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that best execution wins. The talent level is higher for the Pats but not substantially sans the QB, TE and LB pos but the Jets have a better secondary.

Well, all we need is for someone in the media to ask goodell why Richardson isn't suspended.

After all, roger did say that he is available to the media every day

Problem here is Goodell is a reactive douche. You see, if there was a public outcry like there was in the Ray Rice or Adrian Peterson circumstances he would immediately suspended for the good of the game so to speak.

However you don't see huge Espn coverage on Aldon Smith or Sheldon Richardson. It's like the story just disappeared unlike d---------e.

I still say F Espn, Goodell and all his henchmen. Alas, one day they be gone.

Confusion reigns...you do understand your are at a Patriots forum and you just said "Many here agree with my take"?

Well aware. Contrary to my initial assumptions when I started posting here, many are smart fans, good guys and pretty objective.

Many. Not all. :D

None of this crap matters and the 01-04 Patriots won because they were great, not because they were disrespected.

Stupid is as stupid dozee

So what recourse do I have against him if the Jets don't win this Sunday?

Seriously, these player "guaranteed" wins are so stupid and hackneyed.

This is such a cliche thing to do now. It has no effect on anything anymore, nobody will remember he did this by Tuesday No matter what happens

The way I read it, he guaranteed a win. And after a few tough battles, we need a little extra motivation, and believe me, BB WILL use it as such. I thank Richardson for that. Remember, they lost to he Seagulls.

I would love for them to put over 30 on that defense but it's gonna take a good running game to keep that pass defense guessing.

Blount and Lewis are an excellent tandem. I was thinking the same thing, that this may be the game that Josh goes for the power rushing approach like we saw against the Colts last year to keep that defensive line in their gaps playing the run. That may not be possible without Stork and Shaq Mason, the nastiest two young offensive linemen in the league.

Sheldon Richardson did not join Joe Namath as a Jet guaranteeing a victory this week, and he’s upset that his words were interpreted that way.

As PFT noted yesterday, Richardson said the Jets are going into Sunday’s game with the expectation that they’ll beat the Patriots “if we go out there and execute and do what we’re supposed to do.”

That’s a pretty big “if” — after all, the Patriots have a knack for preventing the other team from doing what it’s supposed to do. But Richardson was saying that if the Jets play the way they need to play, they’ll win. That’s how most players think heading into most games.

Richardson’s words were originally reported in Metro New York under the headline, “Sheldon Richardson Guarantees a Jets Win at Patriots.” That led Richardson to complain on Twitter that he doesn’t like giving interviews at all because his words get twisted — with an apparent shot at Commissioner Roger Goodell over the NFL’s rules requiring every player to talk to the media.

The headline has since been changed online to “Sheldon Richardson Confident in a Jets Win at Patriots,” but by the time it was changed, Richardson’s alleged “guarantee” had made its way around the Internet and talk radio. Richardson has every right to be upset that a media outlet decided to get clicks by attaching his name to the word “guarantee,” a word he didn’t use.
