It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I love how people will just slap on a "detractors need not reply" to any PFF thread as if saying "we aren't going to talk about PFF's validity" will make its validity a non-issue.
Helped ya with that thread title!
Yes, as graded by PFF
Maybe I don't get these rankings (no, not maybe--I don't), but how is Gronk ranked -0.1 in pass blocking?
It is more reliable to make something up and call it a fact than to use PFF to rate football players.
Thanks for the help....appreciated.
Interestingly enough....if you take the overall grade (and not just blocking) we have 3 of the Top 5 TEs in the NFL. Maybe you should change it to that intead lol
Cool, that is at least as likely to be accurate as PFF.I actually have them ranked 2nd, 7th, and 13th on my own personal rating system, called the "Dude, nice block" matrix.
Wait a second. Where did you see that?
Don't get me wrong, Mike Williams is my binky and I think we will all be hearing alot more of him as the season goes on, but there is no way he (or Hooman, for that matter) are currently top-5 TE's.
If it is well-known then why post their meaningless stat, and say we don't want to discuss that it is meaningless?I guess I'm saying that the "objection" about PFF is well known. I didn't want to discuss that topic here since it has been discussed numerous times elsewhere.
...It relates to when the Patriots use him for pass protection.
In the "overall" rating
1.) Gronk 10.6
2.) Fasano 3.9
3.) Williams 2.9
4.) Fleener 2.4
5.) Chandler 2.3
Now, I guess it's possible a few TEs (who are not on this list) could sneak into the "overall" Top 5 with a poor blocking rating but a fantastic pass rating.
I think the bottom line I take form this ranking is that we are getting positive contributions from 3 TEs. How many teams can say that in the NFL?
