The Ravens stole the Patriots trick play John Harbaugh complained about last year
This play looks a little familiar.
The Ravens used an offensive lineman where the Pats had used Vereen. It is still a legal play as long as that ineligible guy out wide has an ineligible number, but players with eligible numbers can no longer declare themselves ineligible and then line up out wide.On a somewhat serious note, I thought the rule was changed so that nobody could run this type of play/formation anymore?
I think it should be encouraged to refer to someone as a "Harbaugh" when they complain and whine about something, only to do the same basic thing to someone else. Extra points if they fail in the process!
"Look, I know you're upset that you got beat, but you don't have to be a Harbaugh about it!"
The same mentality that gave us the designated hitter in baseball. It takes a lot of pressure off the manager by relieving him of the responsibility of having to make critical decisions. The new rule is stupid. It basically excuses the defense/coaches from having to diagnose the play. It is basically the dummy-ing down of an exam so that the masses don't embarrass themselves. Let's make sure stupid Harbaugh and idiot Terrell don't soil themselves having to "think" too much. It's so much easier when you can just pin your ear backs and try and hurt the quarterback, isn't it.
I have always been about smarter>stronger. I cheer for the Princetons to beat the Georgetowns. I also like the idea of our smurfs wrecking a league full of bigger, stronger, faster players.
The media/fans love to wallow in Cam Newton's athleticism (the backflip) but I feel like the Tom Brady's of the world are what make this game so much more intellectually stimulating.
Thank you!The Ravens used an offensive lineman where the Pats had used Vereen. It is still a legal play as long as that ineligible guy out wide has an ineligible number, but players with eligible numbers can no longer declare themselves ineligible and then line up out wide.
