Gary Myers leaks NFL's terms for settlement (it's much worse than you'd expect)

They are either supremely confident that the Court has to rule in their favor or they have decided to go down with the ship...or they are just batshit dumb or batshit crazy or both

Fair enough -- the judge was keeping up decorum and appearances.

The fact that he did NOT say anything about the parties being close yet not getting it done is supporting evidence for the theory that they were in fact way apart.

It has always been the case that the NFL would rather fail in court completely so they can maintain the position "well we tried to do the right thing and hold a hard line, but it is the court system that is letting Brady off on a technicality."

The NFL does not deserve Brady man...they just don't. He has made a lot of people a lot of money and he did it the right way...the same people that he made money for he is getting screwed by.

The NFL league office and those that run it are a pathetic excuse of an organization. They don't deserve TFB. If there was a comparable league, a viable option, he could/would go to then they this crap would not ever have gotten this far.

One game IS a slap in the face to their biggest cash cow (speaking their language).

Waking up and looking at their jealous self in the mirror every morning must make them feel very proud...

Well, based on what I've seen, I don't think that they're capable of feeling shame.

I'd say Roger's arrogance is shocking, but it's not. He certainly has no pulse on public opinion, that's for sure. I hope Berman steps up. Look at Goodell's other rulings just this year

1. Falcons pipe in noise. Fire a guy, 5th pick next year, fine(whatever)
2. Browns texting. Suspend GM after the draft and the 53 is settled for 4 games and a (yup, whatever) fine. Real effective.
3. Jets tampering. Totally insulting to NE joke of a fine and no swapped draft picks.
4. Ne Patriots and Brady: Steal team assets like the Third Reich did with Nuremburg Laws and publically villify team's QB through state sponsored propaganda.

Well this was a non offer offer. they had no intention of settling but give the impression by a token offer which they know is stupid. Either they feel really confident about their case or just dont care.

Brady has 21 playoff wins not 20.

Because Wells pulled a lawyerly tactic and got Anderson to "admit" he might have possibly used the gauge that came in with the lower readings in his pre-game measurements. Even though his best recollection was the opposite.
Isn't that tampering with a witness, or something or another? Tampering with evidence? It's gotta be some kind of tampering. Because it is.

More likely badgering a witness ( or good lawyering depending on your perspective). A strong witness says, " I remember which gauge it was and I'm sure it was gauge X, no ifs, ands or buts". A strong lawyer will ask the same question over the course of an interview ( sometimes hours apart to try to elicit a different response that can be used to impeach/trip up/contradict/confound/confuse/attack credibility of a witness... which is likely why they wanted another shot at McNally and Jastrewski...

Doesnt matter because they dont give a rats ass. Arrogance by the truckload and you know why? Because people are still going to pay. In a way, they are giving the mob what they want. Their token witch. Why? Because they HAVE to be cheating to be that good. This reminds me in some ways of the purge.

Roger is staking a large part of his legacy on the aftermath of deflategate decision.

Exactly this. In other words, the NFL all along has cared more about the PR than the actual result. This is why they'd rather take a loss than settle, which is why Berman has either been wasting his time for the past few weeks trying to induce settlement or has been clearly establishing that he gave the NFL every chance to act like grown ups before reaming them.

We're solidly in "sports reporters throw a bunch of **** at the wall and see if any of it sticks" mode. If they're wrong they can claim that their 'anonymous sources' were legit, and if they're right they'll spend the next year taking victory laps.

Example: today MCI made sure to point out that he had Tyrod Taylor as the Bills starter back in June. In the intervening 3 months he's made dozens of ridiculous/wrong predictions, but his own personal broken clock moment is the one he'll try to make sure everyone remembers.
