O-Line

Thoughts?

really hard to judge, I would throw away the 2nd half. Shaq looked good on the run. We didn't have a play like Rodgers had on his drive where he stood in the pocket for 5 seconds, but Jimmy is not Rodgers either. These guys are really fighting for backup jobs.

Not great last night but A lot of potential on the line, I think they will continue to improve.

I wasn't at the game last night. If anyone was there they could probably add a lot. I find O-Line and the secondary the hardest to judge on tv.

We can comment when our OL actually plays. MAYBE one of the starters from last night will start Game One, perhaps not.

The offensive line is almost always an issue in the preseason because the Pats always seem to be cautious with their starters reps there. The Pats have a long history of developing late rounders and free agents along the offensive line, so we play a lot of 3rd and 4th stringers who will never make an NFL roster, and we give them more reps than most teams do.

It's frustrating because our highly touted QB's like Grop and Mallett have become jittery at times as a result, but it has helped us pick the right guys to develop along the OL.

The left side of the OL, especially LT without Solder, is absolute horse-poo.

The 3rd stringers sucked, but I don't really care about that because it was expected. What matters to me is that Mason and Jackson both looked good. If they can play, we're in good shape; would basically make every position except LT pretty well nailed down.

Mason is as advertised.
Wendell's absence showed the problem at center if Stork goes down and Wendell's gone.

Yes, we should always have a 3rd center on the roster.

The point was that, as of this moment, they don't look to have a backup center if they cut Wendell.

I thought our two rookie guards played pretty good. You can tell Mason is going to be a beast run blocking. Either way, an improvement over having Devey or Cannon in there at guard. Hope Stork comes back real soon!!!

BB loves versatility......gets more with less....:D

I think sometimes that even though we know it intellectually, in the moment we forget the preseason games are really just practices.

The actual O – line that will be playing this year will be fine.

RT - S.Vollmer, C.Fleming
RG - T.Jackson, R.Wendell
C - B.Stork, R.Wendell
LG - J.Kline, S.Mason
