Seriously I think Goodhell need to wrap this up Today or no later than Tomorrow. TC is right around the corner and we dont need the distraction.
I don't think TB even needs to win the defamation case. Just a big headline that reads Brady sues the NFL for 100 Million would be priceless.I think that the leverage is a potential defamation lawsuit against the NFL, based on the false information they deliberately leaked prior to the SB. A case like that, with a venue in Massachusetts, could result in a nine-figure judgment. It would be bye-bye, Roger if that happened. No way he wants to take that risk.
Even he he doesn't win, the spectacle of discovery and having Goodell and his minions under oath on the witness stand would be priceless.I think that the leverage is a potential defamation lawsuit against the NFL, based on the false information they deliberately leaked prior to the SB. Remember defamation is hard to prove but just him going for it would be awesome.
Obviously this would be on top of any other court cases to challenge the actual ruling. In which winning does matter here.

I am theorizing that the NFL, NFLPA and TB12 have been having back and forths since the hearing trying to keep this out of the courts and resolved quickly and efficiently.
NFL wants to suspend TB
NFLPA says NFW.
I'm assuming that the rumors of the NFL informing the NFLPA a deal that if the suspention was reduced, they could not sue are true and was rejected.
I'm assuming that discussions have broken down and the NFLPA is on the offensive now. NFL will counter and round-n-round we will go.

Why am I not surprised, Schefter also still saying he thinks Brady will be playing Thursday night against the Steelers
Mmmmmm........
