The sports media has one job: catch attention and get views.
All of these reporters that are hated by people on this board also happen to be some of the most well known names.

How much more are Felger and Mazz mentioned on this board than people like Matt Chatham are? A lot more. That proves they're maximizing their earnings! This is about them trying to make as much money as possible for their families, even if it means saying ridiculous things. That's their job! Instead of posting hating comments about these people that you don't know, how about we start paying more attention to the reporters we do like? Why even mention the ones you don't like?
You're only encouraging their approach to reporting! You're proving that they're doing it the right way to NFLN and ESPN.

If I knew I'd make more money off of patriots fans by saying ridiculous things, I'd do it too! It feeds my family, why would I care what a bunch of sports fans think about me?

Start supporting true reporting and it will grow!
The media's job is to make outlandish comments because that's what gets the most attention... and we are the reason it gets that attention.

Instead of complaining and hating people who are maximizing their earning potential, why not give them reasons to report in different ways? Stop complaining and ignore it! Focus on the good reporting instead.

Try to look at things without being biased! Just because someone says something negative about the patriots or Brady does not mean they are wrong or terrible human beings.

Most of the people protecting Brady right now would be bashing him if he was on the jets. I would support Brady even if he had "cheated" and i'm not ruling out the possibility that he might have known... Despite how irrelevant the difference in the balls would've made.

If you constantly mention bad reporters, you are not allowed to complain about them!
It's like going to eat at a restaurant you really hate over and over again... Then bringing your friends to the restaurant just to show them how bad it is.

Yes, the headlines, comparisons, and content can be foolish and outlandish. That's what all of us click on and are pulled in by! Change our ways, change the reporting.

How often is football by football linked on here? Not nearly as often as hatred towards ESPN is mentioned.

Screaming A Smith-uh, is that you?

Nice input! That was very well thought out and wasn't just a personal attack on me because of my opinion! You must not be 12 years old!

Explain how discussing our hatred for certain mediots enriches them?

PS.........I'd like in on this formula if true:)

Yes. Yes it does. :)

This type of blind support leads to bad things, in any aspect of life!
I'd say a good example is blindly supporting a religion, but I don't want someone to attack me and say i'm comparing you to a radical Muslim or something. :p
Of course blind support of a sports team doesnt lead to things as bad as blind support of a religion, but it still gives a biased and inaccurate view point!

Because you spread their articles, fame, and mention them to people who might not have known about them previously.
For example, I had no idea who Felger was until I read about him on this board. Now I know plenty

Coming from a five-year-old like yourself, the irony is rich!

Relax Interception. It was a joke. And the hatred towards mediots is aimed at their coverage not them as a person in general. If it's true that you would throw out provocative crap just for ratings then what does that say about you? You would lie or ignore the truth in order to feed your family? It's not ok to criticize their point of view when they clearly do not understand the science involved in the report? Nope, I completely disagree. If they are going to put their irresponsible scientifically illiterate views out on the air for people to hear who may or may not understand the whole story then I am going to criticize it. They have had 3 months to ask experts or learn the science behind the current issue and have not. Instead they have thrown out "cheater" type statements effectively tarnishing peoples reputation without knowing what the hell they are talking about to which I find completely shameful. You can make money acting like jerry springer or you can make money acting like Charlie Rose. Up to you.

He wasn't joking. He's been insulting me on other posts too.
Would I lie or ignore the truth in order to feed my family? Yes, absolutely. You wouldn't? I'd lie about things a lot more serious than sports to feed my family.

Just because you disagree with their opinions doesn't mean they are the media equivalent of jerry springer. It just means they interpreted the information different. I don't agree with them and you might not either, but that doesn't mean they don't know what they're talking about.
It is very possible that we are the ones who are wrong, even if the chances are low.

You took me entirely too seriously! And technically, isn't being a dedicated sports fan akin to a tribal affiliation? There is a degree of dogma often associated with it too - and ritual. And folklore and stories of heroes, vengeance, trials, tribulations, and saviors. Hey, this is a religion after all!

Because you spread their articles, fame, and mention them to people who might not have known about them previously.

Do you feel that Felger has been enriched because of your new awareness of him?

You have a very solid point!
Maybe I should be complaining about blindly following a religion instead of a sports team.

Do you feel that Felger has been enriched because of your new awareness of him?

No, but I do think others have been enriched. That's because I don't listen to radio but read articles. But I would listen to Felger just to see what the hate is about, so I am more likely to enrich him now.
Articles that are posted in hate on here all the time are clicked on and given views, resulting in ad revenue.

Maybe we need to talk to our local congressmen and get some laws passed on "reporting". Because reporting and agenda-driven media are very different. Of course it is a formula to boost ratings and really emotion.

I would legislate that everything that is reporting information with bias/agenda (i.e. not being balanced) has to be called out so the "people" can understand that the information isn't always factual or told in a way that doesn't present one side of an argument. I honestly believe that the masses think the reporting that comes out of places like ESPN, ... is balanced and thus correct or accurate.

I'll stop before I get too political about people learning enough to make an informed opinion...

Who decides what is biased and has an agenda though? Would that filter out everything negative about the patriots?
You're right about ESPN though. People blindly believe everything they hear from ESPN
