Ted Wells' Train Wreck Press conference :D

So Wells just blew his load....and Yee much to extract that......

Now Brady will file the appeal and likely a defamation lawsuit to go along with it....and Wells or the NFL has no more cards to play

I see a complete attack on Goodell and his agenda

I think where Wells may have messed up is he said that he only stated "more probable than not" that Brady was guilty because that was the League standard, but he really thinks Brady is guilty.

The League has that standard to protect themselves against lawsuits. That is why they didn't want Wells to say he is guilty in that report. Now that Wells said that he only used that phrase because that was what the League wanted, it may give Brady and his camp more ammo.

i think the biggest mistake they made was reisner say it didn't matter which pump was used. clearly they do not understand science.

Now this I disagree with. Read the comments on any of these national articles (I CANNOT BELIEVE I AM ACTUALLY SUGGESTING THIS) and people legitimately think in their actual hearts and souls that brady and belichick are cheaters.

They didnt read the report, they barely even listened to the talking heads. They just were spoonfed guilty and thats that. My own brother who is smart and an independent thinker has been texting me that he is so surprised Brady was into all that etc etc... literally everyone in my ENTIRE workplace from the uneducated up to all the physicians think that they are guilty (I live away from the NE)...

Thats is the saddest part of this. unless there is an internal whistleblower from the NFL, a mind-blowing leak, or the NFL gets so thoroughly embarrassed by a neutral arbitrator such as a court so as to retract the Wells report or something - Brady is forever guilty in most peoples eyes.

Humiliated in court

maybe we are seeing through our pats fans eyes..people elsewhere e.g reddit think wells nailed in the presser and no way even an independent arbitrator reduces the suspension.

/r/NFL is full of mouth breathing morons who are frothing at the mouth screaming for the Pats to be punished though.

Ted Wells objectively let slip on 2 occasions admittances of guilt for the league should they be sued by the Patriots and by saying he thinks Brady is guilty 100% and not to the NFL standard of more probable than not means he's opened himself up too.

Speaking of him using the NFL standard - it also ruins his "it was independent!" angle, his "report" is toilet paper, the courts are going to crucify him over it.

only thing Iam wondering about is if tom is 100% innocent why hasnt he come out and go nuclear yet with his and his family name being dragged through the mud ? Why hide behind lawyer speak when you have nothing to hide?

Anyone who dares mock me over the Patriots situation is a recipient of my unholy verbal wrath and must sit while I lecture them for half an hour on all the massive holes in the Wells report. 2 people have challenged me thus far at work, and those people ran out of things to say while I was only halfway done. (I also live away from NE - I'm in Pennsylvania.)

And with that sentence........ the whole "I was not influenced by the League in making my report" claim flies out the window and into the bull$**** pile, doesn't it?

Because that isn't how you win lawsuits.

You wait until the other side slips up, Wells didn't just slip he fell flat on his face today. Don Yee will be laughing in his office.

Yeah most will praise his tone and find it believable and convincing...somehow.

Just watch. I'm gazing at headlines on the top of our page. "Wells hammers back at Yee and critics". They'll think he did a great job.
Thats why I think we need to temper our excitement down. Maybe some lawyers here can put more objective opinions here.

The more the other side speaks the more ammo he gets.

I'm hoping and praying he is putting together an absolutely watertight case, and that its just taking time.

True. But you are a lawyer. It signifies something if they are tying to rush to close the session. That's all.

Right.

Having a PR person handle the logistical is unexceptional.

Shutting down the call quickly is ... well, it's not exactly transparent or fully cooperative.

Millions of dollars and hundreds of pages later, Wells seemingly reduces his report to McNally's "deflator" text. Screw science, we have an incriminating text damn it!

It doesn't matter what the average idiot thinks. It only matters what Yee does with it.

reddit is a sh!t hole full of smug neckbeard pseudo intellectuals trying their hardest to say whatever gets them upvotes. All the eunuch Patriot 'fans' on that subreddit make me sick. r/NFL is a bunch of wolves in sheep clothes trying to play 'neutral' while you and I both know they want this whole thing to be true. That place is like an awards show. They all pretend to like each other and pat one another on the back, but they all hate everyone and, more importantly, they hate themselves.

I understand that but if you are totally accused absolutely nothing then there is no case to build. Just come out and put your points across, no ?

Definitely a massive mistake. They are showing "look, we didn't understand the science, but we based our conclusion on the science", i.e. our conclusion is nonsense.

In that case using Goodell logic...Paul, Weiss LLC should be fined $1m, will not be allowed to pick up any new associates this year and Ted Wells will be dis-BAR'd for the next 4 cases for failing to cooperate ;)

Which is it, Ted? The league didn't take it seriously, or at least three league execs were taking steps before game?
