In his column where he points out how everyone is a loser in the DeflateGate deal (of course leaving out how ESPN covered themselves with crap), he takes time to point out how he is a victim in all of this for speaking up for the rest of the country despite being berated by both Pats and Colts fans for being a petty loser.
From his latest column:

Sympathy cards and flowers can be sent to Doyel care of the Indianapolis Star.
BTW, he never mentioned poor Jim McNally who is clearly the biggest victim in all this (at least until the Wells Report comes out and the Pats are either convicted or exonerated). McNally for nearly a day was painted as some underhanded figure who knowingly tried to sneak a tainted ball into the AFCCG and never received as much as an apology. Yet Doyel feels bad for himself because fans from both the Pats and the Colts attacked him on Twitter for being an arse.
From his latest column:
As it relates to me, who went as hard after the Patriots as anyone in this or any other market, did I lose? Depends on your perspective. Some Colts fans told me I was embarrassing our city, making us look like whiners and poor losers. Lots of Patriots fans said the same thing, albeit more colorfully. Am I a Colts homer? Or one of the majority of people around the country — who just so happens to live in Indianapolis — who finds it impossible to give a cheating franchise like the Patriots the benefit of the doubt? That's for the individual reader to decide.
