Been reading all the mocks, looking at all the boards, and scratching my head to figure out what the Pats will do tomorrow in the first. And there isn't a good answer. I've read a couple of threads where trades were discussed focusing on Washington and Atlanta. And I wouldn't mind if they BOTH happened. Trade out of the draft with one of them into next year's first, and pick up two seconds from Atlanta with the other. But BB said on EEI today that Everyone wants a trade down, but no one is looking to trade up, and you can toss the draft value chart in the can this year. So, if you cannot pull off the deal with Atlanta, I am getting a really sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach that we trade out with Washington at 24 and with 28 we pick either a WR or OL. And my stomach is beginning to churn.

I've been losing a lot of sleep this week, turning different scenarios over in my head, and now i am actually sick with flu-like symptoms.

Nonsense. When I tune in at 3:30pm tomorrow I'll just be hearing, "the GB Packers have traded the #16 pick in the 2007 Draft to the NE Patriots. NE is on the clock."

It's called the 'sebman trdae maneuver.' It's Machiavellian in nature but has it's roots in military history. When everyone is looking to retreat....fix bayonets and charge.

The Pats might make a minor move up with #24 and and their 3rd rounder to get into the mid 1st if someone they love is dropping. Other than that I think they stay put or trade for future picks.

Sun Tzu said something like strike when least expected...
I really butchered this quote but I'm sure you educated folks know what I mean.

If everyone is looking to trade down, that means trading up will be cheaper...
MOVE UP

LARON LANDRY
or whomever else they have a super high draft grade on

We all know of our 10 picks, 10 rookies will not make the team.

But yea, my stomach feels awful...
I'll blame this crappy weather, nice weather, crappy weather, nice weather

Oh my ..how soon they forget. Dude, this is 2007 NOT the 70's or 80's or 90's. We have guys named Bellichick and Pioli, they get along. They know football. They are the best in the business, they are our guys!!

Bobby Greer is not picking for us.

The Sullivans are long gone.

Bucko Killroy (while still with the team) is not running things this year.

Parcells is not *****in about shopping for groceries.

Upton Bell is not around.

im getting sick too..i just have a feeling were gonna draft someone we really dont want/need right away (Leonard-Gonzalez) .

Realistically, the pats are reloaded for 2007.. the draft is just dessert.. we have quality players at just about every position, no obvious weaknesses.. can we upgrade and develop depth??? yes..

AHHHHGGHHHHH!!!! My Eyes!!!:scared:

I still shivver at that roll call.

I know that we have the best in the business at doing this, and perhaps a trade up is possible, to grab some real talent. But after last year, with all those great fit LB's and the writing on the wall for the collapse and physical failure that eventually occured in the AFCCG, the Pats took a RB and WR LAST year, when the pool was shallow, and now that the top of the draft is thick at WR I am just frightened we will do it again.

btw: The Tuna, when left to his own designs drafted great. LB's, DL, OL, LB's and more LB's. And he drafted LB's as well as anyone.

:woohoo: From your keyboard to BB's draftcard!

As our militant colleagues have attempted to scribble, it's a buyer's market. Teams who want to trade down will need to give up more "value" to attract a buyer then they would have in previous years. #8 may be the Jimmy Johnson chart's equivalent of #24 + #28, but the Pats could just as easily get #6 and #143 (5th round) from Washington, or #6 and a 2008 4th round pick if the 'skins want out of the top ten bad enough. I don't see BB making that trade, but who knows, Adam Carriker may be the next coming of Richard Seymour and worth a 6th round pick. The interesting part comes from clubs who might want Asante Samuel, reportedly there's 21 teams looking for CB help in this draft, and only 3-4 first round grade CBs to pick over.
