Jay Glazer says NFL has zeroed in on locker room attendant

It feels like a dangerous piece of information, but it lacks context.

for example what room did the kid go into, was he alone, how long was he in the room... I mean it seems juicy enough to get the rabble roused, but not enough to say we have something solid. But, it feels like

But, it feels like the NFL is setting this up to a point where if they can't prove wrongdoing, they can still say it might have happened and be able to fine/penalize the Patriots for allowing this to happen.

Just yesterday, Jay Glazer said it was a "sting operation" and now it is a lockeroom attendant? All from "sources" of course ..

I don't think Glazer said that yesterday, but he was the guy leading the charge that the story was ridiculous and blown way out of proportion. And now he is leading the charge to blow it out of proportion. Some of his Tweets over the last few days:

Are we all seriously now quoting freakin Bill Nye The Science Guy on NFL biz?? Seriously??? Ok, this officially has gotten ridiculous

Damn, I now know I missed a golden opportunity, when I had SpyGate video I should've had Siskel & Ebert review it for us #outofcontrol

Yes whatever happened should've been handled already to spare us this ridiculousness. Regardless of where u stand on it, it's gotten foolish

My point is REAL issues are going on in the world & for the news to focus on THIS instead of issues that matter... it's gotten ridiculous

What a hypocrite. The story was only ridiculous because he wasn't the one breaking stories.

So, if it's video from Gillette, the Pats would've reviewed it already. If they did that and denied everything, there's nothing incriminating on the tape.

Currently, Glazer's scoop is "Ballboy on video carrying footballs."

Only issue is if the ball boy was instructed by Brady to do something with the balls and he confesses. Probably a stretch but I think that's what they are probably looking for.

There is NO WAY IN HELL that Belichick holds an impromptu press conference and says what he says if there is any legitimacy to Glazer's report.

I'm sure this getting leaked while the Pats are in the air is mere coincidence.

Of course it isn't. This is the response to the Pats turning the tide of the media coverage on this over the weekend. Now they leaked the report while the Pats are on a plane for six hours with no way of responding.

could someone please open a thread of all the false leaked info. thanks

I thought the balls were delivered by the officials to the field after their inspection.

If the Pats are truly innocent of any wrong doing. I think that would be the end of BB here, he did not sound like someone who was willing to take the fall for something his team didn't do Saturday.

Belichick won't take it quietly. Kraft will though. He is more concerned about the league as a whole.

He is assuming that Tom is telling him the truth. If Tom lied to BB....oh man,

\So much furor off of so little information. So now Glazer can say we have an attendant who took the balls "somewhere". Probably to one of the sideline ballboys. The balls have to get to the field someway?. Plus it mentions they have FILM of it. Of COURSE they probably have film on it. They film freekin' everything. All the cameras that are there for the game are usually turned on before it, not to mention the massive security cameras that are always running.

I'm NOT a conspiracy guy, but how can you NOT think that way when the League's favorite leak point, Jay Glazer, gets a tip like this and phrases something that can be totally innocent and turns it into something that can be viewed as totally sinister. "we have him on film" So what?

I fear for this team. I am starting to believe that the league is about to begin the fight that I feared they might be stupid enough to start. I believe now that the Pats will have to beat the refs, the league, AND the Seahawks if they are to win this game. And now I sound like a conspiracy nut. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

How is it a less likely scenario if the guy handling the footballs detoured to another room and then the balls were found under the 12.5 PSI requirement? WTF?

Christ some of you guys are ridiculous. At this point I don't give a **** what happened, I HOPE the Pats didn't do it but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I'm 50/50 at this point.

Because it would be extremely unlikely that this attendant could bring all the footballs down the the same psi by letting air out in such a short span of time.

Also, I would be surprised if the Patriots did not review all of the videotape before submitting to the league.

Furthermore, if they saw something incriminating, it would be rather stupid to go ahead and give the press conferences denying any knowledge or involvement.

The problem is whether the person in question can be coerced to testify against the Pats.
There is quite a bit of precedent whereby officials in power can easily persuade someone they're guilty even if they're not.

I agree. I dont follow the other 3 sports anymore. I can see going 4 for 4 soon. Too many losers, and jealous crybabies in the world.

I have a list of every team and all the cheating all of these teams have done over the years. Where is the outcry on any of that?

Nobody likes a winner.
Exactly. It really just depresses me to see how half-sentient the whole damn country is when **** like this happens. We might as well be in the middle ages. At the end of the day, I turn to sports for an escape and enjoyment. If I can't use it for that anymore, then I'm out.

Just let me see a resounding Patriots win. And the team refusing to do the postgame celebration.

Exactly. Are people genuinely stupid enough to think Belichick would hold that press conference while taking the risk of looking like the biggest liar and idiot in sports history? Not a chance.

How is this news? Without the histrionics of "person of interest" and "zeroing in", isn't the substance of this just that the NFL is trying to talk to the only person who might've had the opportunity to deflate the balls? Isn't that something that we all knew they would do and assumed they would have done days ago???

the wording of jay glaziers leek is really telling. Honestly there is video tape of a ballboy making a detour. They cannot determine if he is responsible for wrong doing. He has been interviewed and is a person of interest. The league has egg on its face. Its has to release something to justify 8 days of nothing. If the video showed him sticking a needle in the balls this investigation would be over already. I will say this the leaks in this case have proved not to be accurate thus far.

From Jeff Howe

Major question I have following today's ball boy report: Which room did he walk into? There is a bathroom between officials' room and field.
