He was muzzled by Kraft to protect his buddy Goodell who overstepped his bounds.
Was going to, basically, say the same thing.
I think it likely that "Spygate" got taken out of the HC's hands and became an Exec decision thing. Ultimately, as you stated, I believe BK played the good corporate soldier and rolled over (Kraft got his way up the NFL exec food chain by playing the good soldier?).
I believe BK is a good owner, however, hearing BB's comment on "Spygate" reopens the wound of BK throwing BB and to lesser extents TB, Bruschi, McGinest, Brown and a whole lot of heart and soul Patriots under the bus. These guys heard their exceptional efforts get put in a negative light ad nauseum. However, as of now, BK likely ok'd the gist of the Spygate comments today. Hard to believe the Patriots didn't know BB would get a "Spygate" question. Hard to believe they wouldn't have prepared for it. Hard to believe BK or JK wouldn't be personally involved with the PR side of this circus. The approval and directive to speak up is only 7+ years late (assuming I am right and BK/JK were involved).
