Harbaugh keeps using the word "DECEPTION" during his Press conference

Yeah, and Tim the Dink Fox has the balls to say on Channel 7 post game the Pats were fortunate to win.His exact words.
Tim played like a madman and has taken a lot of hits to the head, Ill give him a pass.

Maybe next time the Pats play the Ravens, whenever they have a receiver report ineligible they must submit a written copy of the play to the Ravens' coaching staff so they can identify who is eligible.

Did anyone catch the video on inside the NFL of Harbaugh totally verbally abusing the guys with the yard markers in last weeks game calling them cheaters and liars

Whiny classless losers, the both of them.

"It's not something that anybody has ever done before," Harbaugh said. "They're an illegal type of a thing and I'm sure that (the league will) make some adjustments and things like that."

Tom Brady countered in typical Patriots fashion, saying "maybe those guys gotta study the rule book and figure it out. We obviously knew what we were doing."

Cry me a river you sore loser............if it hadn't been for the refs you would have lost by a couple of touchdowns.
He did not say it was an 'illegal type thing'. You're making that up out of whole cloth. He did say they Pats were exploiting a shortcoming of the rules, which may or may not be true, but is not illegal or even a bad thing to do.

Which is bull. Because Vereen went to Vinovich told him and Vinovich pointed out that Vereen was ineligible. The problem was Ravens weren't alert and were outcoached on that play.
His contention is it seems that ineligible players need to be announced before they go in the huddle just like eligible players are. At least thats what he is getting at. Pats just exploited it perfectly and I expect the rules committee to introduce this rule in the offseason

Saw him play when I had season fix. Loved him, but head trauma or not, that was ridiculous.

Wow! Florio actually kinda defends the Pats:

It’s clear he believes the Patriots exploited a loophole that sufficiently confused the officials to allow the Patriots to sufficiently confuse the Ravens. While the loophole could be closed by the Competition Committee and then the owners, New England’s ability to identify and to capitalize on a little-known quirk in the rules perhaps should be regarded neither as dirty nor cheap but effective.

I live here in Montgomery County Maryland and was watching the postgame on Comcast Sportsnet here and they had a couple of former Raven analysts and they laughed at Harbaugh for that. They dismissed it saying it is in the rulebook and that it was on the Defense to understand that.

BTW here is the video from CSN down here in Maryland, complete with the Ravensstudio analysts dismissing Harbuagh's whining and complimenting the Patriots coaching staff for it.

So what happened? Ravens analyst Brad Jackson explained on Ravens Postgame Live.
"It was a great job," he said. "I know Coach Harbaugh is talking about the deception, the trickeration.
"But what happened is, the referee always announces at home over the loud speaker when a receiver -- an eligible receiver -- makes himself ineligible and the referee does this exact movement to the visiting team to let everybody know that, in this case, No. 34 Shane Vereen was going to be ineligible, which means he would stand at the line of scrimmage and therefore the guy No. 47 [Michael Hoomanawanui] ... at the end of the day he was therefore eligible.
"Which means that that's why when we close it left, when we set the defense, linebackers set the defense, in this case Daryl Smith closes to his left, and then you saw C.J. Mosley go over there, they covered Shane Vereen and [Rob Gronkowski] and left 47 wide open to run down the seam and that's what Coach Harbaugh is talking about. He said they did it a couple times.
"The point is that it was announced ... and it's tough, but as we talked about ... it was a great job by [New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels]. We have to figure out and hear and understand that, OK, 34 is ineligible. We don't need to go out and cover him ... and the Ravens didn't do it. They were tricked. They took advantage of a rookie, you know, as far as setting the formation."

I didn't make up squat. Are you a ravens fan?
You'll have to excuse me. I meant to post a link. I didn't say it. It was a quote from this article and HIM saying it.

That's a misquote of Harbaugh. I watched his press conference. He didn't say it was illegal. He called it trickery. He called it deception. He said the competition comittee might look into it. But he explicitly did not say it was illegal. And no, I'm not a Ravens fan.

Good lord. How many threads do there need to be on this?

Here's what he actually said in that sentence, taken from the video:

"Normally you get a chance to make some substitutions and things like that it's not something that anybody's done before. The league will look at that type of thing and make some adjustments and things like that."

Only reason it worked was because the Ravens were overloading the right side of the line. A balanced defensive set might have forced Hoo-man to block a DE instead of going out for a pass. As it was, from the GUARD SPOT, Solder was able to go get Suggs - because the Ravens were overloaded right.

Simply a GREAT call against that defensive set.
