I will tell you who I am. I have followed the Pats since 1960 when Butch Songin was the QB so I have an understanding as what a real Pats fan is. In your responses, you state that the Pats should have been punished for camera placement but the Jets should get a free pass for tampering. Does anybody aside from you believe that those are the positions of a Pats fan. Perhaps if you didn't espouse the Jets party line, people would not consider you a Jets fan.

If this is tampering then the NFL rules really need to be overworked because that is ridiculous.

He didn't contact Revis or his agent, he didn't make any offer to anyone but simply expressed that he would love to have a player back with his team. If he would have said that they will do everything possible to get Revis back to the Jets it would be a different story. Can we be reasonable for a change ?

It's tampering because he's publicly saying he would like to sign someone who is currently under contract with New England, TAMPERING with our future negotiations with him.

If he said, "I'd love to have Revis on our team. I'd even pay him top dollar" would you get it than?

Perhaps you're not familiar with the recent history of the two teams. The Jets have shown a genuine malevolence towards the Pats:

Stealing Parcells, tampering with him before the superbowl even started.
Stealing Martin and other players.
Hiring Mangini.
Tampering with Branch.
Causing .Spygate.
etc... etc..

So I guess it is OK when a last place team like Denver, admits to taping the pregame walk through of their next opponent, and get a slap on the wrist, while the best team, the 2007 Pats two days before trying to win the Superbowl and go, an unprecedented 19-0, get threatened with a possible Congressional investigation after being accused, and subsequently cleared, of doing the same thing.

You only get punished if you are excellent, not if you are pathetic?

He definitely insinuated that the Patriots got him for a reasonable price by stating that "he'd probably have brought him back if he'd have known that he could've done so for what the Patriots paid for him."

At the very least that suggests that N.England received some sort of bargain at 2/32, which may certainly end up driving the price higher.

The NYJ are getting to be pretty good at driving up the price, as we saw when Deion Branch left in 2005.

There is only one thread about it and if you don't like it you can put on your big boys and climb all the way up to the Thread Ignore feature and click on it. The Jets just openly tampered with a player they covet and the Patriots have to re sign, that's a big deal and the league is going to come down hard on them for it.
