The NBA voids deals between teams and hasn't been dragged into court, but not the signing of free agents. The key here is that Revis is under contract for 2014 and 2015. He doesn't become an unrestricted free agent until 2016 unless the Patriots cut him and his $25 million total cap number for 2015.

To be fair tho, the NBA owned the N.O Hornets at the time and the Chris Paul trade happened while they were conferencing with a group of small market franchise owners putting a bow on the new CBA at the time.

They were NOT gonna sign off whilst the rich(bigger markets) got richer. So Dan Gilbert, Mark Cuban and their goons pouted and changed the NBA landscape.

Honestly I am not going to pretend to be an expert of tampering rules, I enjoy law but NFL law? Yawn material IMO.

I just agree with the guy because you all seem to be focused on a simple comment by a 4-12 team only because it is the Jets, if we want Revis we get him, Brady just allowed that, simple and plain.

I am talking textbook tampering as in if this allows Revis to have a bad game and end our season it is not tampering, it is Revis having a bad game.Please don't fight with me guys I just don't care what Jets org says after firing a GM and coach, if anything I am fine with them saying they want our guys, anyone at 4-12 would want 12-4 guys.

Well, I haven't trolled in weeks. And I've stayed away from the , Jets Suck thread , for the most part.

I honestly don't see you being an issue, Jets, Giants, Yanks play Boston tough as ****ing nails every time so naturally we will hate.

But to me I can't get down with picking on a NY fan 5,000 to 1. It isn't even worth it considering 99% here are NE fans, I attack NYers on neutral grounds and forums, I say post as you wish, we have way too many homers here.

Were you a Pats fan when the Rats tampered with Bill Parcells as he was getting ready to lead the Pats in the Superbowl where they would, hopefully, get their first Superbowl win ever?

You DO know that prior to recent times the Pats were among the most pathetic failures of a professional franchise in ANY sport?

They couldn't wait for the Pats to complete their Superbowl before trying to steal our, under-contract, head coach?

A team couldn't be more dismissive of another team if they tried.

For THAT and subsequent actions, like the poison pill to Curtis Martin and Spygate, they have have earned my unending contempt and eternal enmity, and that team and it's fans cannot suffer enough.

BTW, the league's punishment set a precedent in what the punishment should be for a team that violates the rules the league has recently pointed out to them. The rules are the rules and should be enforced equally. When the Jets made a federal case of the camera placement and Bellichick said he misinterpreted the rules concerning the use of filming from a certain location , there was no oops and slap on the wrist for him or the Pats. The standard punishment for tampering is loss of a draft pick by the tampering team and a swap of positions for the offended team. The ball is in the court of the POS commissioner and I hope that Kraft puts his team ahead of his subservience to goodell.

Born, raised and dying in Boston area, I am and always will be here in Boston I live right near Gill;ette, I remember going to that hole in the wall stadium before the razor company took over, my dad made me see that 1-15 win team back in 1990 or 91, no I am not from the 60s like a lot of you I apologize but I am not a post 2001 fan, I watched most of Bledsoe's career here and several coaches.

I love Boston and I will die in MA, there is nothing that comes close. I know how pathetic we were, all I am saying is this whole obsession with NYJ is disgusting, they are not the Lakers or Yankees they are not winning titles over us, they haven't made the playoffs in 4 years, a SB since 69....I don't and never will get how they are this important.

Johnson is repeat offender having made his DeSean Jackson comments last year so it's not an "oops I didn't know the rules" Even the NY Post said last year's comments bordered on, or were outright tampering...Now he does it again and the impact could cost the Patriots more $$ in terms of a new contract which affects the overall team....Does the former Jets employee have the guts to discipline Johnson? He didn't contact Revis or his agent, he didn't make any offer to anyone but simply expressed that he would love to have a player back with his team. If he would have said that they will do everything possible to get Revis back to the Jets it would be a different story. Can we be reasonable for a change ?

Are you guys deliberately delusional? By page 1 of this thread the rule is quoted and the very words used are in the rule. Then it is discussed why it matters. I agree, it seemed innocent enough, but open your eyes. It isn't innocent at all.

The question isn't if it was tampering, the question is how bad should it be punished.

The Patriots should be allowed to tamper with a Jets player as soon as Jets get a good player.

So I guess it is OK when a last place team like Denver, admits to taping the pregame walk through of their next opponent, and get a slap on the wrist, while the best team, the 2007 Pats two days before trying to win the Superbowl and go, an unprecedented 19-0, get threatened with a possible Congressional investigation after being accused, and subsequently cleared, of doing the same thing.

Perhaps you're not familiar with the recent history of the two teams. The Jets have shown a genuine malevolence towards the Pats:

Stealing Parcells, tampering with him before the superbowl even started.
Stealing Martin and other players.
Hiring Mangini.
Tampering with Branch.
Causing .Spygate.
etc... etc..
