Official Patriots Bengals Post Game Thread

Everything looked so dark and bleak after the Chiefs game... it legitimately felt like the end of an era and highlighted the terrible offensive play in September.

This team continues to surprise me. They showed so much heart last year through adversity and they are doing it again.

well, let this be a little lesson, boys and girls…...don’t ever underestimate the big dog (BB)

he just needed a little time to sort things out

it blows my mind how lucky we are to have Belichick…….GOAT…….respect

BB is a bit choked up in the post-game conference.

Bengals need another bye week.

Brady talking to the media:

Bravo, five star performance. ..so much better to go to work after a win....workweek blows when they lose...what a difference a week makes...great job all around

This little bit of illumination from JetsInsider:

Yeah take away a bunch of scoring plays and this is a whole different ball game.

There you have it. It would be a totally different game if the Pats weren't allowed to, you know, score...

All I can say is excellent job tonight and continue the ass whooping next week and the week after next and so on...

i will be the first to call it. Cincy is running into a buzz saw this weekend. 45-21 pats

Based off of what exactly? This team has shown nothing to suggest they can beat anyone by 20+, they barely beat the Raiders here for christ's sake and you think we're going to stomp arguably the most complete team in football by three scores? Lol.

i called it mid week. the Brady chants were Awesome.

This win goes out to all those patriots haters the ones who said the patriots would not win another game. You never underestimate the patriots ever. When you underestimate them that's when they will surprise you and that's what they did tonight. The team that is power ranked 12th came out and payed with hart tonight they showed the desire to win the game. 9 out of 10 times the team that plays with heart will win the game. Cincinnati simply underestimated the patriots and it came back and killed them. They thought it was going to be a walk in the park little did they know the patriots would come out on fire nobody was gonna stand in there way and it showed and the patriots came out with the W. That's our quarterback number 12! We will see you in Buffalo next Sunday at 1pm.

Brady looks like he's wearing a bathrobe...like a boss.

I'm still a little surprised... Like, this wasn't some blowout of the Vikings or the Jest. This was against a GOOD team, and a legitimately GREAT defense, at a time where the Pats had a short week to prepare but the Bengals had a BYE WEEK to prepare!! AND they had to deal with R. Kelly impersonator Jerome Boger with his stream of yellow throughout the whole game, and they STILL SPANKED THEM.

So awesome. I love my team.

I'm just relieved to see Brady isn't suffering from any sort of rapid and rare declination and degradation disease ;)

What a fun game to watch. One of the most enjoyable in a long, long time.

A few quick thoughts:

1. I loved the attitude and the intensity. The team was obviously pissed off and didn't want to take hostages. Many of the penalties were bogus, but I didn't mind a few penalties due to over-aggressive play - in some ways, better than being passive and getting pushed around. I believe that the more physical and aggressive team generally wins. If the Pats can channel this level of aggression and keep cleaning up the fundamentals, they should be ok.

2. The Pats have plenty of "skill players" if the OL plays well, and no amount of talent at the skill positions will matter if the line can't block.

3. Love seeing the TEs involved. Tim Wright has 9 receptions on 10 targets so far this season. I hope he becomes a staple of the offense. Gronk clearly isn't 100% yet but is getting some confidence back. It would be a huge boon to be able to reprise 2010-2011 with the TE emphasis.

4. I don't think I've ever seen Shane Vereen run so well. He's been a great receiver, but I've never seen him so quick and dominant. Chris Collingsworth mentioned Barry Sanders, and while that's too close to divinity for my taste, there were some pretty sweet moves. I love it when the running game gets going.

5. Bryan Stork looks really solid in the middle. He doesn't get pushed back. I like Wendell much better at guard, where his drive blocking can come into play.

6. Decent defensive performance with a number of key players out or banged up.
