Just piggybacking on what is clearly the official post-game thread... Also, haven't (and really can't) rewatch the game, so take any observations with a grain of salt.
But I strongly agree with DI's #2. Far too few quick-strike plays in the 2nd half, even after OLine started to cave. Too much PA involving TB with his back to the D; by the time he turned around, it was already too late! Also feel this team would be far stouter against the run, and more guys in their natural positions, in a 43. Perhaps run more base, even against a 3-WR set, but throw a CB into that #2 S position.
Gronk looks slow and lumbering. (Unrelated, but so too so did Vollmer.) It's probably for the best that he's being eased in gradually. Additionally, I'll be happy to see more of Wright in the 2-TE set, who caught all three of the balls thrown his way (even if the plays were unspectacular), and less of LaFell.
A terrifying prospect, but are we really depending on Stork to be our team's savior? Kick Connolly out to RG and then hopefully never see Wendell or Devey ever again for as long as we live?
Okay, some silver-lining stuff... In the 1st half, TB was moving quite well in the pocket; he even threw pretty well on the run -- historically not his forte -- which I recall was a point of concentration during TC. Also, happy the O is more committed to the deep ball; perhaps this is in anticipation that the the current rules will favor that sort of aggressiveness. However, I think the personnel will better suit those plays once Dobson (and possibly Tyms as well) make a return.
