Amendola hung up on Adam Jones during 98.5 radio interview...

There's really not much more that can be discussed with someone who believes something like that......

Best of luck! :)
Shmessy, I never disrespect you, and in general I am very fond of you, but right now you are trying to personalize this situation because you do not like the fact that I do not think Amendola did the right thing hanging up on Jones. That is unnecessary and I am disappointed that you would do that.

As far as my statement goes, look at the back and forth discussion I have been involved in, it is when a poster excuses or defends something based on a biased. We all know that if Peyton Manning had hung up on an interviewer for questioning his neck health we would have a 12 page thread about how immature and unprofessional it was. The fact that Amendola is a Patriots player is the only reason posters are trying to make his decision sound like the right one. That is what I mean by lacking objectivity, being unable to separate being a fan and supporting a team from the actual events or situations. I do not expect Amendola or any other player to be perfect, and that is why I really do not have an issue with what Amendola did, I have an issue with the posters who are unwilling to recognize that it was not a great choice on his part and could have been handled better just because he is a Patriots.

Anyway I am done with this discussion, all I can say is I would not teach my 4-year-old son to hang up on someone if they ask him a question he does not like, I would want him to handle the situation more maturely. If you feel otherwise that is your right. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I teach my 7 year old not to talk to people on the phone he doesn't know. Enjoy yours as well.

I would have no problem with Peyton Manning doing that in a similar situation. If others may, that is their prerogative.

And, btw, I don't disagree with you the person - - just with your point. We've been around the block with your misunderstanding about that distinction a few times in the past, and unfortunately, you still don't seem to understand the difference. If you don't take these things so personally, perhaps you would get more out of the discussions.

It is not a question of having a problem with it, that is what you are not understanding or I am not explaining well enough. I have NO problem with what Amendola did, but it was not the best decision, and if Manning did the same thing I would feel the same way. There was and is a better way to handle that situation.

There is a fundamental difference between not having an issue with something and believing it is the best thing to do. I do not have a problem with people who drink 7 days a week, but that does not mean I think they are making the best decision.

Holy cow.

Don't you know that is the OLDEST trick in the book for yellow journalism? "There are those who say you are a cheater, Coach Belichick..what do you say to those critics?" You think Belichick would entertain that question or the questioner for one millisecond?

That's basically what the Screw York scum Rich Cimini (IIRC) asked Bill during one of the PCs
leading up to the SB That Shall Not be Named Part 2. I wish I could've reached through the TV
and slapped the b!tch.

"Naïve is the posters who think that one of the most disappointing player on the Patriots last year who had 0 receptions in the AFCCG"

Two posts in a row you went to this. You may be putting lipstick on the pig, but your personal feelings for DA come shining through.

Jones was baiting him for a gotcha quote with "do you still beat your dog?" questions, albeit spoken politely. Whether DA hung up or not is almost irrelevant - as in, whatever. You don't know the agreed-to terms of the interview.

And as someone else here pointed out, the press is vicious, and when you've been burned by them, you learn to keep your mouth shut.

Oh, and for the record, was he more disappointing than Wilfork? Mayo? Gronkowski? Kelly?

Naïve is the posters who think that one of the most disappointing player on the Patriots last year who had 0 receptions in the AFCCG was not going to be asked a difficult question by an interviewer. As far as uninformed, that is laughable, I have provide more facts, and data to support my posts than anyone on this board. The only posters who ever take issue with what I post are the ones who cannot view situations objectively, anyone who could would know that a grown man hanging up on another grown man on the radio because he did not like the question being asked is immature.

We're being clowned here, Pats fans...look at that post. Look at the total lack of understanding basic English syntax. "Naïve is the posters who think that one of the most disappointing player on the Patriots last year". I do not know of any other Pats fans who posts here that butchers basic English like this person. He has to be a put on. Or else one of these descriptors...

Synonyms for delusional
adj having unrealistic beliefs

You'd all be better off turning on your I tunes and listening to a few hours of "Guns and Hoeses" than the fractured fantasies of I.M. Alwaysright.

How was your first season in New England and what would you like to improve on in year two were the first two questions asked, he did not lead off with injuries. To suggest he came out swinging is absurd he was doing no such thing; he was asking questions that you would ask a player who has missed 50% of the games over the past three seasons.

Jones asked one question before he started into the injuries. I said so. Don't act like they had a back and forth before Jones before he started with the injury questions. He had a token softball question and then laid into him.

Amendola wanted a platform to promote his charity, Adam Jones wanted to interview a player about football, he let Amendola come on the air with the understanding that he would answer the football questions.

I am sure he was ready to answer football questions, but not a bunch of injury questions where he had no way to answer them anyway with the Pats gag order on injuries.

Adam Jones is not a horrible interviewer; he has worked for ESPN radio, and is well respect amongst the media. He is not Borges he was not executing his own agenda.

So what? Most ESPN radio hosts are horrible interviewers. Most of their interviews are with ESPN analysts where they are just rattling off a bunch of be determined questions to set up the analyst to talk about what they wanted to talk about on the air.

Never said he was a horrible radio host, but plenty of great radio hosts are horrible interviewers. It is a small part of most of their job on the air.

I get it you hate Amendola, but what he did was far from the worst thing I have ever seen a player do in an interview. In fact, he isn't the player on the Pats who was the most unprofessional in an interview (Google Revis and Mike Francesa). Forget it, I will post the video here.

You're right. What Revis did was horrible. He should not have argued with that gasbag Parcells' girlfirend for 8 minutes - - he should have hung up the phone within 60 seconds.

No doubt Francesa was a douche of the highest order, but Revis handled the interview worse than Amendola because he took the bait and got into a peeing match with him.

His performance and health merits being asked question even if they are not the most favorable questions. Nobody should hang up on another person especially not on a radio show; it is disrespectful, rude, and immature. I do not give a rat’s ass how great of a player Amendola is or how poor of a player he is, he did not like what Jones asked him and reacted like a 16-year-old girl whose boyfriend asked her where she was after school. The fact is if Amendola does not want to be on the hot seat he needs to perform better and they will have nothing to say about him.

This is desperate 50, you are better than this, you are attempting to compare players who were on injured reserve and had major injuries that required surgery and long rehabs to a player who played in 41/59 snaps in the game and only had a drop to show for it.

This is freaking hilarious, you make it sound like Adam Jones is the crazy villain who attacked poor defenseless Danny Amendola.

He asked him about his injury history, his current health, and then attempted to ask a question about his injury history in how it pertains to his style of play. That is not a lot of question, do not exaggerate the interview to make it sound like Amendola was a freaking victim, that is absurd.

Where you are wrong is with the belief that I hate Amendola, what I hate is people formulating these defenses for him when he does not deserve to be defended, it is tired and annoying. It has been going on for over a year where the J’s of this forum go around taking issue with everyone and anyone who does not buy into their make believe and bias defense of Danny Amendola. I do not hate Amendola, I see him for what he is both positively and negatively, and in his first season here his negatives outweighed his positives therefore I discussed them more.

Maybe if players did this more often, the boston sports media would collectively realize how unimportant they really are, and stop being such enormous blowhards.
They have a job to do; it puts food on their table and clothes on their family’s backs they do not deserve to be disrespected for trying to do that job. I find many of the media to be annoying and uneducated but I do not hold them attempting to do their job against them and I am not going to advocate that players, fans, or any person should disrespect these people. The questions Jones asked were 100% reasonable and his method in asking them was not abrasive or offensive, it was a line of questioning that was leading to something when Amendola overacted and hung up the phone.

This came across personal, “I guess it would not be bad form or a personal attack if I wrote here "Brady6, you have been called a very naive and uninformed poster by some"???” if it was not intended that way sorry for misreading you. That was what I was speaking to, nothing else. I do not take the situation about Amendola personal at all, I do not expect everyone or anyone for that matter to agree with everything I say on here, it would be boring if they did.

Amendola wasn't a victim. I am saying Jones isn't a victim either and he deserves his share of blame for the situation. He is not a good interviewer and a more experienced interviewer would have avoided this situation.
Ok, you don't hate Amnedaola. You just really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really dislike him.

Face it, whenever there is an Amendola thread, you get into arguments with virtually everyone with endless posts trashing the guy.

That evil Amendola probably ruined Jones. I hope Jones sues Amendola for causing him PSD.

Seriously, Jones should have handled the interview better. He is not an innocent victim. He is just a bad interviewer. That is probably why he is on nights and weekends.
