Patriots To Work Out Tight End C.J. Fiedorowicz

He doesn't excite me at all, but I wouldn't be averse to taking him outside the first two rounds.

He would be a good selection at #93 in my opinion, not before then but certainly would add value to the team and be able to contribute at least a blocker right away.

He is big and can block, and can catch if thrown the ball. He has very little athletic ability.

I'd rather just wait and take Arthur Lynch-----I seem to be the only one here who likes Lynch, and if he's around in the 4th or 5th or 6th I'd scoop him up. Local kid, SEC proven, good player.

Rather have Niklas... much higher upside and very athletic.

Still think he will be the best TE from this draft. Size, hands, agility and blocking ability is all there now he just needs a semi-competent OC to put him in the positions to be effective. He has a very high ceiling and would be an asset to the Pats.

Big, physical and disciplined tight end who can really block. He could be available in the 3rd round pick because many have him ranked between 95 -105. 6'6' 265 lbs with good hands and 4.76 40 yd dash speed. He would be a good fit.

I really like the pick at 93, they could go O Line / D Line with this first two picks and add a player that can help win at the LOS. The Patriots are gearing up to really pound the rock.

A lot of people here are saying they like the pick at #93. I guess I am in the minority on this. I don't like him at #93. I think his value is about 115 or lower. I don't see the up side here. I think he is a safe pick but in a draft this loaded I see a lot of more valuable peices you can get at pick #93 than him.

Now if you wanna trade up from 130 to get him then sure I am fine with that.

Good point Bob, maybe he isn't the 93rd rated player but drafts are always part BPA and part need. He fills a need but won't cost a premium pick. My expectation for 3rd rounders is that they can come in and play a complementary role, even average is pretty good for a 3rd rounder.

That's my binkie you're (not) talking about here, Mr Grid! :D

If the team can complement the Gronk with a guy who does more or less what Ballard was supposed to -- put his body up against opposing defenders and catch the ball if it's thrown his way -- I'll be delighted. And, yes, that's well worth a pretty high pick.

I like C.J. Fiedorowicz's 40 time for a guy his size 4.76 that's pretty good. It is funny how some of the same people who don't like Fiedorowicz have high hopes for the un-athletic Troy Niklas go figure. Many have Niklas going in the Second why it's beyond me.

He has great size for the position while his straight line speed is just ok. However he did well in agility drills - achieved top marks in 3 cone and 20 yard shuttle for the TE prospect group -- 7.10 and 4.26 respectively.

I would be fine with him in the 3rd, I hope we don't have to use a 2nd on him but you know Bill. We 'reached' for Vollmer but he turned out alright. Just hope if Fed is the pick in the 2nd, he turns into another Vollmer pick instead of a Tavon Wilson.

The question I guess becomes, do you take a 'solid' but not great TE in a TE light draft or do you wait until the later rounds and draft someone who likely does not contribute as soon as Fed would?

The guy can barely get separation in college, what chance will he have in the NFL?

He'll be very one dimensional and his presence on the field also telegraphs to the defense that it'll likely be a running play, and if they pass it won't be to him. That completely goes against what I want for the offense, I want the defense to have to account for everyone and for them to not know if it's a run or a pass, I want to exhaust them physically as well as mentally.

Give me a credible dual threat.

OK, but you'll have to give me a top-50 draft pick in return! It's really just ASJ or Niklas in this draft, IMO, and as a result they're likely to go fast.

That's fine, IMO that would be spending the draft pick, taking The Fed anywhere before the 5th round would be wasting the pick.
