I'm hoping we can fill some holes in Free Agency or the draft on the offense

TE is thin now
Owen Daniels
Kellen Davis
Fred Davis
J Finley
Dustin Keller
Dallas Clark

-maybe Keller, they all have injury issues

WR
Edelman
Smith
Nicks
Sanders
LaFell
Burleson
J Jones
S Rice
L Moore
etc...

WR - I think they are waiting on Edelman, if he returns that would pretty much be it in free agency. He he doesn't come back then maybe Steve Smith or someone to play the slot like Lance Moore.

TE- Mr. Mulligan may be back, otherwise the take a TE in the draft.

I would like us to retain Edelman, and then there's plenty of WR's I'd be happy with in the draft.

Would really have liked Scott Chandler at TE though. Other than Ebron, there's not a TE I'd take in the first two rounds. ASJ maybe, but his attitude concerns me.

Since we have half of a Gronk, and a good blocker in Hooman, Fred Davis or Finely would probably be the best addition in terms of adding a diversified skillset. Finley seems like more of a headache than he is worth, though.

Too bad Davis is a turd of epic proportions.

Finley's meeting with Seattle - lots of love going back and forth there.

They need a veteran TE who isn't a total liability as a receiver. Owen Daniels would be my choice.

As for WR, I think Edleman is gone. Money wise, I think they've made their bed with Amendola. He goes to the slot, insured with a shadow roster player like Austin Collie, and the Pats look for a veteran to go with Dobson & Co. Nicks would be my choice, fragility and all.

I think the Pats interest in Edelman is a smokescreen to appease Brady,he really has little value over Boyce and Amendola. I would like to take a chance on Smith,Rice,Nicks,or Britt

As far as TE goes I think the value is in the draft. Since the combine the TE stock has dropped like a rock except Ebron. I say we trade out of the first get an extra 2nd and 3rd and double up on the TEs with 2 of Amaro/(Niklas,ASJ,CJ Fed) and then draft on the lines(OL/DL)

I agree with the TE angle but it is incorrect to say Edelman is not an upgrade over Danny "made of glass" Amendola and Josh "9 career catches" Boyce.

Anyone can play the slot for a game or two, but it is a tough position. The WRs take pounding not everyone can hold up. Edelman pretty much was the offence at the end of the year, seems like a good fit for the Pats to me.

Don't expect SF to sign Edelman, at least not today.

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 7m

Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders now scheduled to visit SF on Saturday after spending today in KC.

WR - I'm still hoping we can sign Edelman and possibly add a Burleson.
TE - Maybe Dustin Keller, but the draft or an unknown is probably the way we will go

TE - one of Owen Daniels or Dustin Keller.
Bill missed the boat last year when he didn't sign Dallas Clark right after The Prisoner
was arrested. I know he didn't do much with Flaccid in Bal'more, but he still would've
been our best Move TE on the roster. But now that he's another year older, perhaps a
healthy Daniels or Keller could offer better productivity as a stopgap for 2014. A TE of
the Future also needs to be a draft priority, obviously.

WR - Minitron or, perhaps even better, James Jones.
We're more than likely stuck with Onthemendola for another season, unfortunately. So
if Bill could use the cap space alloted for Edelman to sign Jones instead, then we might
actually be better-off for it, because of Jones' ability to succeed outside the hash marks.
And a cheaper, dependable if unspectacular receiver such as Austin Collie or Jason Avant
also needs to be signed.
It wouldn't surprise me either if Bill used a draft pick to take another lousy WR, now that
Aaron we coulda had Keenan Allen Dropson's tootsies are still ouchies.

Daniels had a broken fibula. Could have returned by end of season. Keller is better as a move TE but his knee injury devastating. Kind of like Lattimore from South Carolina. That's a two year booboo. Hopefully Gronk can cut that in half.

I have said Daniels was going to be a CAPeroo. He is a pretty good piece. If we lose Edelman, Daniels leads us in receptions if signed.

As far as WR goes, Why isn't Rice signed? O.K. roll the dice with Hicks and Edelman. Dobson and the kids are no more than #3's anyway at this point, I am not gambling they get much better year 2. Amendola is the mystery.

My favorite fallback plans are:

1-Our fourth rounder for Justin Blackmon. Keep him straight and he can be All Pro here. Mucho Talent and only 24.

2-No one has mentioned Doug Baldwin. He is restricted but they declared a 2nd round tender. Nit happy about the pick but the price is Great, $2.187mm is the money to beat. Maybe we have learned something from Sanders. He is only 25. Is there a better WR that we know for sure who can play the Pro game in the second round we would Draft that is better? We can't Draft WR anyway. The Seahawks have been playing the CAP $ like drunken sailors once again. They did lose Tate so maybe they dive in to the bank for him.
I say $4mm gets Baldwin who is better than most on that list.

Colts agreed to terms with Hakeem Nicks, formerly of the Giants, on a one-year deal.
GM Ryan Grigson has reputation for being a closer, so it was always unlikely Nicks left Indianapolis without a deal. Still only 26-years-old, Nicks would theoretically provide playmaking ability on the outside, allowing T.Y. Hilton and Reggie Wayne to move around the formation. If his heart is in it, the Colts will provide Nicks the offense and opportunity to reemerge as a fantasy relevant wide receiver.

2 of the following at WR - Edelman, James Jones, Miles Austin

TE - draft draft draft. Maybe Owen Daniels in FA.

Or a trade for Justin Blackmon like someone just mentioned. Would be great to see him play with a real QB

Or how about Browner as a TE in the red-zone? If you watch some of his highlights on YouTube this guy is a beast. He's got speed and great hands.

NFL | Medical concerns for Emmanuel Sanders?
Fri, 14 Mar 2014 15:44:37 -0700

There are medical concerns surrounding free-agent WR Emmanuel Sanders (foot), meaning he may not get the type of deal he was seeking in free agency. He has a screw in each foot after injuries he suffered in the Super Bowl following the 2010 season. Sanders is reportedly seeking a contract similar to the five-year, $31.5 million deal that WR Golden Tate received from the Detroit Lions. The Pittsburgh Steelers are open to re-signing him, but he'll likely have to accept a much shorter deal.

Retaining Edelman, adding a center would be good enough for me at this point. Grabbing a TE before the draft would be gravy.

The title made me think this was a craigslist ad.

Edleman is sneaky good, but not appreciated around the league; hopefully he will come back to where he belong her in New England. He meshed perfectly with Brady, but the Patriots still need a legit deep threat.
