Legal Tampering Period News

More likely they'll be praying that Gilbert, Dennard or Fuller fall to them, which is possible.

Trouble with this is they have had mixed luck drafting cornerbacks.

how do you equate ocho cinco with Hakeem nicks? Nicks is 26. Ocho was 33 when he signed with NE.

Nicks already reached his arc. Just like ocho did before he was a Patriot. A 26 yr old who is very injury prone and who will not be what he once was

Age means nothing if you cant stay on the field and be productive.

Lower rounds, not first round.

I think these 3 are different from the second rounders they took.

Talk about two COMPLETELY different players and time periods, this comparison couldnt be more off the mark

I mean it more as in..he will fall flat on his face like Stinko did when he came here when fans were expecting a good amount.

Only thing i am comparing is that i don't think Nicks will amount to anything like he once was...just stinko didn't after he left cincy

If this is Belichick's contingency plan--he's as good as screwed. He'll have to look for players beneath that range, although it's possible that they could move up to grab Fuller. The first 2 will be LONG gone. Dennard/Glibert are battling to be the top CB taken, and either one could easily go in the top 10.

I've seen a lot of projections that have the worst one (Fuller) going in the early to mid 20's, but it's possible he could fall. I doubt it'd be all the way to 29, but one never knows.

ocho's problem was not health - it was failing to understand the playbook. nicks is the best WR of all the free agents if healthy. that's a big if, but it's worth the risk especially if it's a cheap contract.

by your logic we should get rid of talib and gronk because neither of them can stay on the field.

Well, you could compare Nicks to Julian Edelman. Julian was very injury prone for his first four years and then had a solid career year in his fifth year at age 27.

So saying that Nicks is like Ochocinco in his last year or so in the NFL is not necessarily the truth. He has been cleared by Dr. Andrews and could have a rebound year now that his foot and knee issues that plagued him the past two seasons look to be behind him.

Nicks is a risk, but in an one year prove it deal it might be well worth the risk. If he can rebound (and there is a chance he could), he has elite #1 WR talent.

Gronk is under contract and wouldn't make sense to cut him this year and talib is most likely gone becasue of the fact he has chronic hip problems and will cost them 10 mill a year

I just don't see him rebounding..maybe he will..but i don't see it and would rather spend that $$ elsewhere

I'd rather go with Thompkins and Dobson over Nicks unless the price is right.

Never been a fan of the guy, but I'm wrong on basically everything these days so let's do it.

so if gronk were not under contract (ie, a free agent), we should make no attempt to re-sign him?

talib is gone because he costs too much for an injured player - nicks won't cost as much as someone like eric decker. Nicks will probably sign somewhere for 1 year, 5 million.

Of course they would attempt to resign him...just like they are with talib and every other FA besides Spikes this year.

Save the 5 Mill for another WR or another position. I don't think he's worth it

Good. That may keep him away from the NYJ, who reportedly have a ton of interest as well.

Alright, I'm all caught up on the free agent news/rumors…summary--it's good to be a CB or OT.

Boo.......

NY Daily News says Giant shave "inquired" about Verner.

Ian Rappoport says Lions have inquired about SS TJ Ward.

I would not mind Hakeem Nicks for one year at like 4 million, let him have a 70 rec 1000 yard season with Brady and then he can go get his 8 million a year from some other team

Henry Melton will 100% test free agency, he already has "multiple suitors".

I don't understand why so many people are ignoring the fact that Nicks gave up on his team. He does all the stuff a lot of people complained about Randy Moss doing, with no where near the talent. He's no iron man either. Lazy and injury prone. Yup, sound great. I'm sure he'll try really hard on a one year deal because of free agency. Just like last season..
