2013 All-Pro Teams

Also making it for the Pats was Talib and Mankins. All 2nd team selections.

People who said McCourty wasn't a good safety, your order of crow is ready.

I cant help but notice dez bryant isnt one of the 5 WR's chosen. Strange i could have sworn someone said passing Dez bryant was the biggest mistake ever

Good to see McCourty get some kind of recognition. He was clearly a Pro Bowl snub, and was much more deserving of the honor than the likes of Polomalu this year.

All these awards were pretty bad to begin with but have been made much worse the past decade during this fantasy boom. All anyone cares about now is numbers and don't bother to put them in context. Fantasy Foosball is the Devil and its ruining this sport and the people who watch and cover it.

Rules have changed to cater to it, Articles are written not only about it but with reference to its numbers (IE this player scored 50 fantasy points this week in an game wrap article), and the people who watch it who will scream in joy when a player scores for the wrong team just because they got them on their fantasy team.

This is possibly TBs best season given what he has had to deal with and the number of come from behind wins he has lead and for him to not be named 2nd team is just wrong. And I dont get why no one was named 2nd?

DMc at Safety is great.

Ha, they butchered the defensive tackle selections. The 3 second-team guys were all better than the 2 first-team guys this year.

I suspect 100% of ballots voted for Manning.

Edit: Yes he was.

There's no option on the ballot to choose a 2nd QB

I thought that rather strange as well. I don't watch a ton of the other teams but I've never been all that impressed with Suh (hype >>>>>> production). I can at least see the argument for McCoy but Poe and Wilkerson have been dominant when I've seen them play.

Eddie Lacy an All-Pro....I guess 2010 BJGE is an All-Pro too.

What qualifies as 2nd Team?
Zero 2nd team QBs
Six 2nd team Safeties.....So McCourty is considered somewhere between the 3rd and 8th ranked S? Pretty Exclusive!! LOL
The fact that Mankins gets even a 2nd team designation tells me a lot about the seriousness of the voters

Yes, we all know that borg is unhappy when Patriots players are recognized in a positive light.

The All-Pro lists are usually slightly better than the Pro Bowl in awarding players based on production and not hype, but not always. There were a number of defensive tackles in the league remarkably better than Suh last season (Poe, Wilkerson, Casey all received votes, but K.Williams, Starks, and Dareus were better too).

The definition of OLB and ILB is fuzzy, but I think Dansby is a OLB in the 4-3 and I would have included Kiko Alonso as a 2nd teamer for sure.

Are you kidding me? This is not anywhere close to Brady's best season. Did you see how many deep balls he missed this year? He didn't miss those a few years ago. I don't see how you can say he was playing better this year than Russell Wilson or Philip Rivers. He posted his worse numbers since his first year.

im sure that has nothing to do with having only 1 healthy receiver all year

Congrats to all who made it, Patriots or otherwise, but there's a bunch of head scratching involved with that list, IMO. As someone mentioned, the DTs are a good place to start.

I'm surprised that no one had whipped out "He was drafted to be a CB.".

Grats to McCourty he seems like a great mixture of character, work ethic, and production. I still think he's the most important part of the secondary, but much like Mayo his role isn't overly sexy.

It's important to take it all into context, but I don't think Brady was an All-Pro this year. The offense was not particularly prolific by any standard, but it was balanced and very efficient at moving the chains and draining clock. It was an offense good at winning football games, not great at lighting up scoreboards like the Broncos. But it's also an offense that can win against teams like the Broncos.

That doesn't excuse the wide open receivers he missed this year. His accuracy was down by quite a bit this year.

With all the issues on offense, the Patriots were still 3rd in the NFL in scoring, and the Patriots outscored the Broncos in the second half of the season (265-263).

Brady completed 65% of his passes in the second half of the season.
