That game was relatively painful to be at. I was getting so much trash talked to me and I had to keep telling people that I root for the Jags if they're not playing the Pats. This game may be more of the same. Most teams would be emotionally drained after the kind of win the Pats just had Sunday night. The only thing we can hope is that they learned from that two game stretch last season because Watt is definitely capable of abusing our OL and making Brady's life miserable.

Not just the sunday game but also the MNF game before. Team is coming of a tough emotional 2 games + thanksgiving week.

This all started with NE last year. They had shown some signs of stumbling before the NE game, but I believe it was that game that started this downward spiral. They really thought they were contenders. They walked into Gillette with a ****iness and got punched in the mouth. They convinced themselves, and tried to convince everyone else, that it was an aberration and they were marking their calendars for the rematch in the playoffs. They came back to Gillette as they wished and got punched in the mouth again. Big brother was not having it. They were never the same after that. NE demoralized them completely.

i don't believe in a trap game. especially not for this team.

let's put it this way. if we play like 1st half against broncos again, it will be a trap game.

if we execute early and start like the 2nd half, it will be a blow out.


it's all about the execution. and we are capable of sucking badly, and capable of making every plays.

This is exactly what I worry about on weeks like this. If the Texans can ride the emotion to an early lead, it'll be a dogfight for the whole night. The Pats need to go out and crush their hopes early.

The Patriots are as immune to a trap game as any team I have ever seen.
Logically, it seems this is due to never getting to up or too down, either for an upcoming opponent or in response to a win or loss.

It is a fact though, that the BB Patriots are as upset-proof as any team ever. It does not take long to count up all the losses in the last 12 years to sub500 teams.

Clowney should change his name to Clown, he will definitely drop out of the top 10. He's been dogging it all year.

There's zero chance Clowney falls out of the top 10 barring a career threatening injury. He's an absolute freak athlete who has had two very good seasons before this year. Plus this year, he's "dogging it" because he was hurt and had no benefit/motivation to come back less than 100% since his team isn't going to win a National Title anyway. Yes its selfish, but how can you blame him if playing hurt might cause him to lose a lot of money in the future.

There's zero chance Clowney falls out of the top 10 barring a career threatening injury. He's an absolute freak athlete who has had two very good seasons before this year. Plus this year, he's "dogging it" because he was hurt and had no benefit/motivation to come back less than 100% since his team isn't going to win a National Title anyway. Yes its selfish, but how can you blame him if playing hurt might cause him to lose a lot of money in the future.

I think a lot of teams may downgrade him for the exact reasons you are offering as excuses.

There's a big difference between shutting it down when you're non-contending in college, in a league and for a school that doesn't allow you to make a dime for your efforts...

Playing on an NFL contract.

In the NFL, he leaves a ton of money on the table if he proves to be unwilling to play hurt. In college, he's already shown enough to be a top pick, so why risk any more?

They may be sharing the title of "worst team in the NFL" as opposed to owning it outright, but Johnson's right, as of now.

The problem is the difference between players is so small in the NFL, when one team decides a game is their Super Bowl, and the other treats it as just another game, things can be very tough for the seemingly better team. I do not think we will lose to the Texans, but don't expect us to run away with it in the first half. They haven't been getting blown out in recent weeks, have lost close games to Colts, Chiefs.

Yes, they lost their last two to the Raiders and Jags. I cannot say they are good.

Just that so much rides on psychological factors, it is easy to let things influence your thinking (e.g., we beat them handily our last two games, we just came off an exhausting OT win, traveling to Texas, Texas fans will be loud as heck and pumped up to see them not lay another egg, etc...etc).

That said, I expect we win, but only after a good fight in a low scoring first half. Andre Johnson can flat-out run, and our run defense is a bit swiss.

There is zero chance of that happening barring an injury. The only people that might get picked ahead of him are potential franchise QBs. Watch his Tennessee game because if he's dogging it there, he's a beast even when he's taking it easy.

I'd buy the trap game stuff more had the Pats not just lost to the Panthers. I believe that they're confident in themselves, but they know they're a team with some flaws that, if not dealt with, can lead to major problems down the line. I think they're as focused as ever, despite the first half against the Broncos may not have been indicative of that. We saw a team in the second half that knows it's good. And I think we saw a team that learned anything can happen from game to game or during a game. They'll be ready.

Though I get and enjoy the joke here, the Jets have actually earned just a thimble-sized amount of respect from me this season. They could have easily mailed it in this season, but they haven't. They've looked pathetic in some games because they are a bad team. However, they've shown grit in other games and won a few they were "supposed" to lose.

With all that said, carry on piling on the humiliation for the Jets. They suck.
