I just wouldn't want to delude the board that the Pats or any other team will have the game sewn up in the bag against Peyton in the playoffs, particularly if that game is at Mile High.
Or even home in Foxborough for that matter....
I am insanely happy that we were able to pull it off last night, but that certainly doesn't mean that I am confident about having to face Manning and the Broncos again the playoffs. They have an excellent team.
As far as "Broncos fans must be crappin' bricks right now," I think that's ridiculous. They will most likely get a first round bye and win their division still. One game in November doesn't equate to anything. The odds are very good that they either go 14-2 or 13-3. Why would their fans be "crappin' bricks?" Because they lost a very close game on the road in overtime to an equal opponent? That's insane.
Their team is on equal ground with ours--at worst. They have better talent, and even though we're missing a lot of key guys, they were missing their top 2 corners (DRC and Bailey) and their leading TD scorer in J.Thomas. I would not go getting to excited at the possibility to face them again myself, although the average homer or fan won't agree due to the high they're on from last night.
I think we'd have an excellent shot, but the 2 teams are pretty evenly matched and it would most likely go down to the wire again in my opinion.
