I can't wait for Blandino to explain why no play was thrown on the play but I can't remember the last time Brady got in the refs face so much and was so animated that they had to call a timeout during the game (Carolina post-game excepted). It was obvious they weren't suddenly going to throw a flag and if they had an thoughts of a "make up " call it didn't materialize on the next play when they could have thrown one on the DB (?Jammer) who had Edelman's arm.
I know they want to let the players play the game but some plays are pretty egregious enough to warrant a flag, even in overtime...Steratore's crwew is usually pretty good and they called few ticky tack penalties but that was the only one that stood out.....for not being called...

I'm beginning to think the only way an opposing player is going to get flagged for PI again the Patriots, is if he pulls out a knife and stabs the reciever.

That was another brutal (and flagrant) non-call.

I forgot about that no call. I've been way to busy enjoying what I witnessed last night to bother with bad no calls like that one. Don't even get me started on the no calls for C. Jones and R. Ninko. They were held on almost every play and only got one or two calls all night. It's part of the game. We won and that's all that matters to me now.

Considering the calls the Broncos got afterwards I was pretty upset.

The other one that I thought was questionable was the D. Thomas touchdown catch.. He clearly pushed off on Talib.

Third and seven on the Broncos tying drive PI on the Pats 10 looked a little cheap, given the enormity of the call - certainly less than what happened to KT.

Also, on the pick earlier, didn't see the Talib hold (I was at the game - they didn't replay that). Was it a good call?

Borderline, but ticky tack considering what they were letting the Donks get away with.

The refs looked the other way for Gronk's TD catch. Seems like Thompkins is getting the rookie treatment from the refs.

Yeah, Jammer committed two PI's (and very obvious ones, at that) in a row and didn't get called for them. Brady boiled over after the non-call on Thompkins. Pioli said this morning on Sirius that he believed it was leftover after last Monday night combined with the two calls that Manning got on the drive before. In the end, the football gods made it up to the Pats in the form of Carter. :D

I'm not sure there should be too many complaints about pushing off from fans of the franchise Ben Coates played for. :D

But seriously, I was being unfair comparing BP and AP rules (Before/After Polian).

Are you saying Gronk pushed off on his TD catch?? I have seen countless replays of that TD and NEVER saw that. Will look again and slow it down.......The pushoff by Thomas was VERY evident however.....The KT non call was total BS....guy had his arm wrapped around KT and took him down early.....Talib got called (correctly) for the same thing earlier when he picked off The forehead....

Even though we won the game and the call didn't matter, it was blatant pass interference. I was shocked that it wasn't called.

Refs had a nightmare in terms of consistency. I don't mind if you're going to stink it up as long as you suck consistently for both reams. They didn't do that.

Push off calls are a tough one. I can't remember it vividly enough before re-watching later to comment but, if both arms extend then it has to be called. Pushing off occurs a lot...WRs are just taught to do it in a way you can't get flagged for it.

I think he pushed off quite a bit on his TD, with both arms if I remeber correctly. Watching the game I was already waiting for the flag to come in.
But I'll gladly take it as it was! :D

uhh They have been incredibly consistent, every horrible call has gone against the patriots so far, Hell im shocked the refs didn't find a way to give the ball back to denver after the turn over in OT

When did the non call on Thompkins happen? I don't recall that play. Pacing, stress and beer are the main reasons! But want to check the tape.

And how about the PI call on Talib that took away the int late in the 4th. Going by what we were told after Carolina, how was that ball anything but uncatchable. There was not a Bronco player anywhere close to the ball. Uncatchable to everyone but Talib.

The second to last possession the Pats had before overtime.

I thought the Gronk TD was a fine example of physicality without a penalty. He never pushed off. If you were referring to his diving miss when he was held before settling for the FG, then I agree a flag should have been thrown.

Big receivers like Gronk and Megatron do a great job of using their size advantage to create matchup issues without pushing off which should be flagged.

If it's the same play I'm thinking of, it's called a rear naked choke in MMA

I don't think it was a terrible call, it could be argued either way. I thought at the time that the ball would've gone behind Thomas by a little bit anyway, but I'm not going to say it was uitterly and completely uncatchable because I don't know how the contact affected his route, especially with the call last week.
