I heard it was because Denver wouldn't give him a new contract but Washington would. Either way the guy comes off as a putz.

Th4e Redskins said they would tear up his contract...The Broncos will not...

Once he reports to camp he will be fine.

Well you're half right. Washington's money was really sweet....and they're losers. Denver definitely wanted to extend him though. There was even the suggestion that they had talked money before the trade was finalized. Enter Santa Snyder and sugarplums started dancing in his head.

That would be a relatively bad deal for the Skins without one of Denver's 3rd rounders or, at the very least, a 4th rounder thrown in. Bly for Springs is roughly a dead even trade... but if you look at any draft value chart, you'll see that the 6th overall pick has a LOT of value relative to where Denver's picks are. Looking strictly at point-value, we could pick up their first four picks for our first... but that likely won't happen.

He's a DC area native (Springs is, too)... so its sort of like LeCharles Bentley wanting to go to the Browns. Hard to disagree with the fact that he isn't making the greatest impression right now... but he clearly didn't want to be traded without a contract extension.
