That report by Rapoport sounds like guessing - unsubstantiated by any facts from the team.

Until the Patriots confirm something, it's all just water cooler talk.

Seriously.

Rapoport went out on a real limb there (/sarcasm). If Rapoport adds anymore weeks to the 2-6 he might as well just say, "He'll come back, when he comes back"

I'm calling BS, a seriously hurt dude would not come back in the same game and make BIG play after BIG play.

He'll be fine for next week

If he misses next week vs TB also, that would fall into the "3 week" category since it'd be 3 wks from the BUF game.

As long as he's back for the 4th game @ ATL on Sunday night football, I personally would rather see him rest the groin up instead of potentially have it be a nagging injury all year.

Agree, if he's touch and go for TB then forget it and rest him up. He plays against ATL with Gronk possibly in the lineup by then, we are good to roll.

For my 1000th post i declare the Pats win this game in a blowout, all so Tom can once again prove a point to the doubters. :beatingcoming:

Agreed. Why he felt the need to throw that in there is beyond me. He's usually somewhat on point with his reports, but this just sounds way off kilter even for him.

Yeah the next game or two may play on our patience as fans, but the reality is that as long as we are ready to roll for the more important part of the schedule we should be just fine.

In the meantime it'll suck to continuously hear about the "new" team and all of the weapons that are missed, but Bill Belichick couldn't care less. It's not a sprint in terms of the football season. There's a bigger picture at hand.

It should also give the rookies/Brady more time to practice and continue some hope of progression. The first few games are going to come with a learning curve this season, but it could benefit us in many ways.

Agreed. Don't mess with a groin injury. We need Danny for the stretch run.

Time for the Pats D to carry this team for a bit..

Well, as long as the Patriots have Bill Belichick coaching, Dante Scharnecchia in charge of an elite Offensive Line and Tom "Freakin" Brady at Quarterback, I'd be more concerned about the Inactives than I am.

Over to you TB12.

Washington, Dobson, Harmon, and Ebner are in

Gronk, Amendola, Sudfeld, Bolden, Beauharnais, Svitek, and Chris Jones are out

Unlikely, but the 6 week figure seems a little long.

Inactives according to SMY:
full #Patriots inactives: Bolden, Amendola, Svitek, Beauharnais, Gronkowski, Sudfeld, newly-acquired DL Chris Jones

Seriously i'm sick of stomping the reg season and getting hurt when it counts. From now on all i care about is having home field at some point in the playoffs but more importantly, all 53 being 110% healthy in round 1.

Everything else is irrelevant because it's time for us to deliver the championships that our HOF QB deserves.

I'm really worried about this game, it's gonna be really physical. Any more injuries on offense and I'd hate to say it, but we'd be lucky to wind up 8-8. Football Gods, no more freakin injuries, you've hurt us big time already.

Seems like the football gods don't give a ****** about us right now

 :idontgetit:
Would you like it in simplified American English? :p

If Tom Brady wasn't playing behind a very good Offensive Line, I would be very concerned about the Patriots chances of winning this game tonight given the key Inactives for the Patriots.

Rappaport was the first one to call Amendola missing this Jets game. Now, he's reporting him being out for more than just one week.

Belittling this latest info is a bit silly, given that.

Even i could of called that he would miss the Jets game given the way he was against the Bills.

Inactives according to SMY:

Hoping we see this Chris Jones in the next few weeks. 12 sacks his senior season as a DT, color me intrigued. I know it was probably against a weaker division in college football, but still impressive. I think his poor 40 time is the reason he went in the 6th round. But this guy has a non stop motor and is driven to sack the QB. 6'2" 306, good size. 21 sacks total his last 2 seasons.
