Next game only 4 days away, thus already on my mind...

Patriots open as 11.5 favorites, not sure if I'm too sold on that line.

As much as I hate the Jets, I still think Ryan is a great defensive coach and he has out-coached Belichick before. This will easily be the weakest offense Ryan will be scheming against since he joined New York.

I don't expect us to win with the Amendola/Edleman show again. Something needs to change this week.

So many roster moves, so little time.

I got to give the blowhard credit, Rex looks like hes fielding a great D again despite deficiencies at LB and S. The Jets D-line looks pretty good.

Jets O still blows. Let's walk out with an easy W and no injuries.

I think if we get Dobson back he can help. Thompkins might get the #1 cb so maybe Dobson can draw some other coverage to help amendola or edleman. I like this offense, just so young its going to take time to get it 100%

I still think the Pats win this game. Maybe not in the blowout as everyone thought before today, but something like a 27-10 win. The defense will give Geno fits all game and the Pats offense will look better, but still have some kinks to work out.

We've owned the Jets the past couple years because their safeties/linebackers blow and no one could cover Gronk or Hernandez. Without that matchup, it's going to be a tough game. 11.5? That's ridiculous.

That being said, the Jets offense is laughably bad so I'm not too concerned about actually winning. The spread is way too big though.

Patriots win 23-16

Rest Amendola. Healthy, he's a best.
Sign Fells if he's healthy as we need another TE.
Dobson game day active.
It is what it is.

Take away Winslow and the Moron throws three picks and is under 50%...rush him up the middle. the Rats center is gimping...beat his stupid face in.

I'll be at this game, Anyone here have a tailgate area you meet up at? Msg me if you want, Thanx.
GO PATS!

Our pass catchers had no space to run today. They ran wrong routes and the bills were bumping them at the LOC. At least i saw amendola being bumped a few times. Our o line didnt really give much time for brady and I expect more of the same this thursday since the jets will run a very similar type defense with lot of pressure and if WRs dont get open quickly it will be a struggle. Jets front 4 is very good so running will also be hard. But if the pats run 82 snaps like they did today jets are going to get worn down. I sincerely hope our D comes with a dominating performance and carries this team until our WRs get something going. Today the bucs sacked geno smith 5 times but dont know our D will pressure as much.

The company line from Jets fans is that their defense the last 4 years was Rex's and that Pettine was just a guy following orders (and giving occasional leaks to the press)

But that defense played us remarkably hard today and reminded me quite a bit of the Jets D the last few years.

I'm very interested to see how things unfold and if the Jets defense plays us as hard as usual or if Pettine had a greater hand into their D than we thought.

Bold Prediction

With 10 days before the next game after this one, Gronk plays in this game but is on a limited snap count.

its should be a hard hitting close game just like the bills game was. Rex Ryan will take away Danny Amendola and Shane Vereen, its going to take a big game from Ridley Edelman. Thompkins and the defense

Would I give those 11 1/2 pts?

HELL no....

Then again, I tend to stay away from double digit spreads vs divisional opponents as a general rule of thumb. While you'll come in some of the time, I personally don't believe it's a good practice as a whole.

Other options would be teasing the game down 7 pts to 4 1/2, of course you'll have to make up those 7 pts somewhere else, whether you choose to add it to the total or another game altogether.

Other than that, I would stay away.

With a come from behind victory at home, the NYJ's and Rex will be even more pumped up than usual to have a shot at going 2-0 and proving everyone wrong. They tend to use that "us vs the world" mentality pretty good themselves. In the end I don't believe that they can realistically win the game Thurs, but I do believe they can keep it within 10-13 pts or so for sure.

Bold Prediction

With 10 days before the next game after this one, Gronk plays in this game but is on a limited snap count.

There is definitely something to that thinking, although we also don't know how close he currently is to returning either.

We may have a better shot at seeing him in 14 or 21 days from now, but I'm sure if he can go he'll be on a limited pitchcount for sure.

Take away Winslow and the Moron throws three picks and is under 50%...rush him up the middle. the Rats center is gimping...beat his stupid face in.

I agree. Show no mercy. Beat ALL their stupid faces in.

Jets would be 0-1 if that TB player hadn't taken that bonehead penalty. I think this game will be another squeaker like this week.

The Pats are going to have to play a hell of a lot better to win, and you just know Rex is probably wiggling his toes in delight watching tape of our discombobulated offense. The whole double-TE set gave the Jets fits the past two years, to the point where you could just relax knowing Brady could spam to Gronk or the schmuck over the middle and not worry about it. Well now there's a big old void there- even if Gronk did come back in some capacity, he's on his own and not going to be in seasoned form- and I can just imagine Rex already thinking if he can just take away Amendola and Edleman (Edleman!) the Jets will will be able to give Brady fits. Say what you will about Rex Ryan, the man knows his Xs and Os on defense and can get to Belichick-- even if he hasn't since 2010.

That said, if it wasn't for the Bucs idiocy the Jets would have blown the game yesterday. Seeing Geno Smith standing on the bench raising his arms like he was some sort of latter-day RG3 Messiah really pissed me off. Hopefully the Pats defense can really get to him, and thus take some pressure off our fledgling offense, which-- even if they do sign someone over the next two days-- I really don't think is going to be that much better so soon, and against a defense that at times has driven Brady insane.

BTW Blount posted a really nice rack on his twitter, and it's showing up on the player tweet feed on the side of the page, and it really distracted me in posting this.

Im coming to Gillette for the first time for this game. Im so excited. I would love to join in tailgating.

I got to give the blowhard credit, Rex looks like hes fielding a great D again despite deficiencies at LB and S. The Jets D-line looks pretty good.
In reality, the Jets defense isn't as good as it appeared to be yesterday. A lot of defenses would look good against Josh Freeman, who's on Sanchez level in terms of ineptitude. The guy blows at being a QB and I'm surprised TB hasn't already moved on from him yet given that he's in a contract year.

All things considered, I'd give the Jets a less than 10% chance of winning - and that's me being nice.

The Patriots have significant advantages over the Jets for a number of reasons. The Patriots rarely lose home openers, add to that a rookie QB making his first road start at Gillette is a pretty tall task, especially when you consider the road team in TNF games is already at a disadvantage in terms of winning percentage in relation to games on Sundays.
