The point is that nobody gives a damn how many sacks and pressures he racks up against stiffs in the regular season. It's alarming that the guy hasn't been able to get to the QB against good offensive lines, because what matters is his ability to generate pressure in the playoffs. If he's got 10 sacks against the Bills in week 2, but can't sniff Manning in the playoffs, he's a useless signing.

The false sense of security in winning 12-14 games against an inept AFCE has again been shredded once we meet the elite defenses post season. I'm not sure how to tell a player who's a weekly fantasy stats wonder vs a gritty gut check playoff performer, but I hope that BB has an inkling. We don't need Hooman types who turtle when facing tough teams.

You should give a damn how many sacks and pressures he racks up against stiffs in the regular season. Because if he doesn't get those 10 sacks against the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets, we might not play Manning in the playoffs.

I'm willing to bet every single pass rusher in the league gets more sacks against bad offensive lines than they do good ones. Just like every good wide receiver gets more receptions against bad corners than good ones. It's not rocket surgery, and it's not the sign of a useless player. And I'll put faith in Belichick to use him in a way that maximizes his talents.

Go look up the numbers. In the past 2 seasons, he's got 1 sack against a good o-line. In the past 3 seasons, it's 3.

And this team is making the playoffs even if Abraham doesn't record a single sack.

Good O-Lines don't give up sacks.

Just because a guy didn't get sacks doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't winning 1-on-1 battles and getting pressure. OL sack stats are kinda useless, really.

I want abraham over freeney

Human wet blanket. March is the time to be optimistic about new acquisitions. There will be plenty of time later in the year to ***** and moan, if they don't work out.

John Abraham was the guy in that Atlanta front 7. He's too old to be 'the guy', and he wouldn't be that here. Everyone is counting their lucky stars and hoping for Jones to make the 2nd year jump, Belichick included. So, all John Abraham (or Freeney or Umenyiora) would have to do is be Mark Anderson of 2011. If we're relying soley on whomever we sign to create our pressure, our defense has bigger problems. We have our starters on the edge, the specialist is what's missing.

I'm a fan, not a cheerleader. If you want to go all "Ray Ray" on us, have at it. I wouldn't hate the signing, but I'd have my concerns about it.

I'm Cool With Abraham and/or Freeney.
Any word on Pollard visiting anyone?

You want to let a guy who is known for injuring Patriots' players into the Patriots' practice facility? :p

Nobody wants him, he' a Grade A assh0le. He'll get a call when a team suffers an injury in training camp.

I think March is the time to be optimistic that your team will acquire players who will work out later. But there is nothing wrong with pointing out the deficiencies of potential acquisition no matter what month it is.

dh44 I hear ya! But if signed here like I posted in other threads I'd have mix emotions on it but it's better than seeing him once a year or possibly twice in AFCE. He can play bro! I'm with you on'da bad blood with him & us.

He isn't an ******* because of the injuries he caused to Patriots' players, he's an ******* because that's the word out of every lockerroom he's ever been in, and that's why he changes teams every two years even if he's playing well.

What are the chances they sign these guys?
