Exhausted Ravens, Rested Pats

Even if the Patriots win tomorrow, there's a good chance they'll be wearied from the game. Hate threads like this.

Ditto. This is one of a few really dumb threads on here today.

Why are you assuming the Pats game won't go to double overtime?

And you do realize the Ravens get an extra day of rest over us?

after that game..an extra day won't matter..that took a lot out of them..

So speaking in a hypothetical sense regarding the conditions the Patriots will face if they win is somehow wrong? Is this the twilight zone not a bulletinboard?

However, "cake walk" is a boneheaded word to use when speaking of playing in the AFCCG....

I think what the OP was saying was, that the Pats had a bye week and the Ravens havn't had a rest. They had to play last week, travel to, and play a long game in high altitude and travel back. While the Pats rest last week, get home field thru the next 2 playoff games, if they get that far. Theres an advantage there.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We still have to take care of business tomorrow. The Texans now have added incentive too as they will host the AFCCG if they win. One game at a time... one game at a time... Go Pats!!

I have no idea what you're talking about. We're playing Houston tomorrow, not Baltimore.
It seems a lot of people around here forget that we have a game tomorrow. One game at a time.

don't think it's a bad thread. Commenting on it isn't the same as jinxing it. People think that if they allow themselves to "look past" the texans, then that'll mean a let down against the texans. But this is a message board, not the patriots team. There is a big difference!

Hopefully Baltimore is dehydrated and will be emotionally and physically spent...but of course it won't matter if the pats don't beat the texans tomorrow! Go pats!

I'll bet everytime you buy a lottery ticket you think about how you would spend the money. This is kind of the same thing.

Yes, I am fully aware that there is a game to be played vs the Texans.

What I'd wanted to convey, but apparently failed to convey, is that the Ravens have likely shot their load, and have nothing left. This is so much better than facing Denver no matter what.

As a Pats fan (homer, I guess, from your reactions here) I had penciled in a win vs. the Texans. I can't envision a knock-down battle against Houston... I think it will be one-sided. Of course, I could be wrong... there's lots of nail-biting sissies on this board too. I won't throw my hat into that ring. I have confidence in this team!

For those who think I'm foolish or worse for starting this thread, all I can say is, "we shall see". And hopefully a hearty "FU" next week.

If the Patriots beat the Texans 50-0, and follow that up with a 75-0 win against the Ravens, this will still have been a really bad thread, because of the timing.

The Ravens had better hope that we choke against the Texans because, if we do get through them tomorrow, then the Ravens would get thrashed.

if anything, the Broncos-Ravens game should show us that Houston is going to be alot tougher the second time around

Hey, I just heard that Arian Foster made this thread his avatar on Twitter.

We should worry about the Texans.

Then we worry about Baltimore.

Today's game will be a lot tighter than people on this board are expecting.

Pats will win because they are the better team and better coached but HOU will give Brady & Co everything they have because they are a good team.

I despise the BAL franchise and many of their players as much as anyone on this board but I don't get the disrespect for their ability to play hard for 60 minutes, be mentally tough under the worst circumstances and consistiently go deep in the playoffs during the Harbaugh era.

Yeah, this. I think everybody watching the game yesterday was aware that playing 80 minutes of football was going to be taxing on whoever won. And I know we're just fans, blah blah blah. But c'mon, OP. Hold off on this.
