It's easy, and only takes a few moments. You do realize that the New England Patriots will potentially have six tight ends under contract prior to the 2013 NFL Draft:that would be a very solid draft for us maybe not 2 Cb's in the 7th round though maybe a receiver, TE or OL too develop but apart from that id be very happy with that draft
You do realize that the New England Patriots will potentially have six tight ends under contract prior to the 2013 NFL Draft:
Rob Gronkowski
Aaron Hernandez
Daniel Fells
Jake Ballard
Brad Herman
Michael Hoomanawanui (RFA)
Post #418 covered that contingency:Sounds like we need to add a few more.
kenny where are you getting all those extra picks
from their 1st.
We'll prob be picking 30-32. You do realize we'll only be getting a two and a three to move down. Let's be a little more realistic in our trade scenarios. Could move way down in 2nd and just get a 2 this year and a 1 in 2014. Like we did in 07 and 11 drafts. But, we aren't getting that many picks for moving out of a late first.
from a draft value chart it's about right. I have them picking up a 3rd, 2 4ths and 3 5s.
It would be hard to do though, most likely.
A draft where they pick only 3 players isn't that interesting. Plus it puts more risk on the first pick not being a bust. The goal of these drafts is to pick players who aren't valued that highly but are still good.
Any teams have 2 fourths and 3 fifths? No. If you trade down from 30 to 50 the pick your dealing is 620 points. The 50th pick is 400 and their pick in round 3 is 180. If you can squeeze an extra 5 out of them you'd be lucky.
Great Blue North Draft Report
I didn't give the pats an extra 2nd. They already have one pick in the 2nd, and that's all I gave them.
Mid 3rd round is about 200 points. Mid 4th round is 80 points. Mid 5th is about 35 (IIRC). So the 600 point first rounder is worth about a mid 3rd, 3 4ths, and 2 5ths. Realistic? Not really, but I'm going to run with it anyway. 600 is actually greater than 200 + 3* 80 + 2* 35. 600 compared to 510.
No teams have that, but it's possible to trade more than once. They don't have to trade one pick for 5. They can make multiple trades. They've actually done that before.
Sounds like we need to add a few more.
Could Justin Francis be the pass rusher you desire? He looked
awesome last night.
Not to put him down because he played very well, but most of our sacks were coverage sacks last night. That's not a criticism - I think that's exactly how BB wants to play; a defense that is an holistic one, interdependent and not relying on being overly aggressive in any one phase. I don't think we'll ever see a Jason Babin type here - someone who rushes the passer and nothing else.
Justin Francis has been very visible (for good reasons) every time he has been given an opportunity....I think a full year in the program will prove quite beneficial as he lacked some athleticism in college....out of the DE's the pats have, I believe him to currently be the hardest worker.
don't forget trevor scott, also.....
I think that you're not going to 'get better' at the position (DE) without using another high pick, and I think there are bigger needs (DT) on the line
