Week 6 at Seattle Seahawks.... piece of cake, right?

Seattle has an excellent defense and the best home field advantage in the NFL.

That being said, it seems some of their fans are going a bit overboard with their enthusiasm of achieving a 4-2 record. I'm also having trouble following the logic that they will beat the Pats because NE lost to Arizona ... when their team also lost to the Cardinals.

Seahawks.NET - The Essential Seahawks Community Forum - Why The Seahawks Will Beat The Patriots

Those fans seem real confident. But what those fans don't want to realize is the teams they have beat(including the Packers) primary offense is huddle up and go deep. Patriots will take what you give them and have absolutely more weapons than any of those teams and especially if Hernandez is back this week.

I'm sorry but the Packers offense isn't what it has been.

Really hoping that the loud Seattle crowd gets to witness the return of Aaron Hernandez going into Beast Mode along with the other monsters who line up on the same side of the ball as TFB.

If Hernando is back on Sunday, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gronk take a week off. Especially before Jets week.

Do they not know how bad their passing game is?

They're feeling confident because their defense has been playing well enough to put them right near the top in terms of points allowed, and they're not exactly going up against Primetime and Ronnie Lott in the Patriots secondary.

I expect the Patriots to win, but that Seahawks defense has some quality talent.

Their fans are underestimating the Pats D way too much. They think that it is still the same old vanilla D who has the worst secondary in the league AND a mediocre front 7. I've read a lot of the word "physical" in that thread well I think after this game they will now the name "Spikes" pretty well and will associate him with the word physical.

Btw some pointed out that how the Pats lost to the only good D's they've faced. I must admit the Seahawks beaten plenty of top NFL teams. A choking Romo, a catch that ended the ref lockout and a QB with a kind of a sophomore slump.

I now want the Pats to really crush them. If you have a good opponent you should respect him. They clearly don't do that enough otherwise they weren't so sure that they will win

I mean I appreciate their enthusiasm, they're fans, but we put up 30 points on Baltimore and should have put up 25 on Arizona if not for that questionable holding penalty not to mention that the entire game plan for that game was altered once Hernandez went down. I respect Seattle's defense but if we keep Brady upright we'll put up 24+ points and I don't know if Seattle can beat it with their passing game. Green Bay for as good of an offense as they can be at times has an atrocious offensive line that seems hell bent on getting Rodgers killed (the Colts showed this again yesterday) and they still should have won that game if not for the refs. Other than that they've only beaten a 1-4 Carolina team and a Dallas team that is the definition of inconsistent, putting up 20+ points in only 1 game out of 5. They can very well beat us, Seattle is a hard place to play, but they better bring their A game offensively.

As a Seahawks fan, this game scares me. Patriots offense looked unstoppable the last two weeks. I only hope is the old adage holds true about how good defense > good offense.

Our offense has looked anemic. With that said, I wouldn't overlook our passing game. Wilson started getting in rhythm after those two 3rd Q interceptions yesterday and looks more confident each week. He may be due for a breakout performance, and it could happen against a Patriots pass defense that allows almost 300 yds per game. You may over-focus on stopping the Seahawks' rushing attack, and expose yourself to big plays downfield.

:welcome:

Would love to hear more insight about the Seahawks from the perspective of someone who follows them closely and knows them well over the course of the week. Intelligent football conversation is always welcome here regardless of rooting interest.

Of course they can beat us, but they act like the pats are mediocre team where you just need to pressure Brady and there is no way that you'll lose that game.

I really like it when a fan base is really enthusiastic, but to be this ****y like they act on this forum you've got to beat the best. The pats are the most consistent team in football over the last decade. The statistics show that really well. They are one play away from being the reigning world champions and still they act like they aren't anything special.

I really hope that JMcD brings his A-Game. The key match up will be the Pats O vs the Seahawks D. We all know that the Pats have the weapons to beat every good defense, but a whole nother thing IF they are rightly utilised.

In another thread they seem to think the Patriots run the same offense as the Packers

from seattle's message board:
watch out Brady because this defense is crushing elite QBs.

lol rodgers is elite but struggling this year and besides him they've faced bradford, romo, cam newton, and skelton/kolb....

No, Seattle is no piece of cake. I have their defense in my fantasy football league and they are very good. They get lots of sacks and turnovers. Luckily they have an anemic O. Since we have a bad habit of playing down to the competition, I see it as a close game that we win, probably on the back of our new and improved running game. Protecting Brady should be even more important this week than it usually is.

some more arrogant seahawks fans

They seem to think because they have a tall safety Gronk isn't going to be a factor because he's only good because of his size...not actual football ability.

Tae?

I can't remember the last time this board was ever so collectively confident about a game as the Seahawk's board. Must be nice.

No disrespect but if NE does not win by at least 17 I would be shocked. If Hightower and AH are back then you can almost set it in stone. The run D is very good and should be able to slow down Lynch and put Seattle and Wilson into multiple 3rd and longs.

Anything can happen in the NFL but after learning their lessons with the Ravens and Cards I think the Pats come in and finish. No more losses to bird teams!! LOL

This board overconfident????? Go read the Seahawks board. They think they're the second coming of the '85 bears and are showing no respect to the Patriots.

I live here. It's not untypical. The seattle times forum is the same way. Most of their fans would rather insult you then talk intelligent football. They're so bipolar. Last week they were all crying about how wilson sucked and the season was over. Then they beat a crappy panthers team and they think they're God's gift again. It does make for a good laugh at times.

That was my point, which I probably didn't make clear. I don't ever remember this board being as overconfident as the seahawk board.

Ahhh! Now I see what you're saying, my bad. :bricks:
