Still seems worthwhile. I'll give him a belated piece of my mind about Vick, cameragate and NFL games in London while I'm at it.

Done it several times. lol

I called the number. Got Steve Carell on the phone. Told him he needs to get back on The Office. Said he might consider it if the NFL brings back the real refs. We both laughed then hung up.

And he'll give a damn what you personally think, right? That is, if he even listens to your message or pay any mind to it whatsoever if he even gets it.

Some of you are really stupid.

While you're at it, why don't you write on a facebook page for Obama and tell him what you think of his presidency. I'm sure he'll get your message to and really take your personal opinion to heart.

Apparently Matthews doesn't run that account. That's a shame.

(I may be an old dog, but I can still cut a groove now and again...)

If this thing isnt resolved by the end of the week, Goodell needs to be fired. Im tired of this crap, what a joke.

I called and left a quick message just be one of the hopefully thousands of voicemails waiting when somebody shows up to work in that office in the this morning. He needs to know that we care about this. Its just a way of adding more pressure on him to do something. If nobody calls he can still pretend that the fans will watch whatever crap is put on the field. I know my voicemail will probably never be listened to, especially by Goodell, but I'm still happy to add to the number.

Why should/would he be fired when he's only doing what the owners (his bosses, remember?) are telling him to do?

"This episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid long-standing rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field," - Roger Goodell 9/14/2007

Good job Roger. You've now negatively impacted more games than Spygate and Bountygate combined. Go fine and suspend yourself you jackass.

This. And even then, he was lying through his teeth with that statement he put out which you quote.

Goodell is a tool, and when a tool doesn't function as it's supposed to, you replace it with one that will.

You think the owners want the regular refs back and Goodell is blocking it? Really? Really??

This is all on the owners. If they wanted the regular refs back tomorrow, they'd be back tomorrow.

I heard one of the Scrub Refs got ahold of this twitter post and wanted to warn Goodell of it but dialed the wrong number and forgot how to hang up the phone :bricks:

He knew it was a phone?

You didn't see Spikes tweets?

Tweets are one thing. If they really wanted to make a statement, they should have done so at the podium.

...

I have felt since almost day one that Goodell is a suit who is in way over his head.

In general, a "Goodell" is what happens when you give a really good staff guy the job where the decisions have to get made. The term should go into the OED one day, as in "Company X really pulled a Goodell when it made Mr./Ms. Y its new CEO."

BUT. In this case, I think your ire is misplaced.

This is on the Owners and I'd be willing to bet a round of beers that it's the same old crowd of mediocre owners with teams in underperforming markets who think that 8--8 is a great season, who are behind the League's position.

It's time for the leaders in the owner's group like Jones, Kraft, the Mara's and the Rooney's to step up and get something done.

After they fix this mess, they should start to figure out how to get rid of a Commissioner who let as relatively simple a situation as this get beyond his control; Goodell proved last year that he couldn't get a CBA done without the intervention of Bob Kraft and a couple of other of the owners. He is once again showing his incompetence in this matter.
