Expansion teams have expansion drafts. A FA drafted by London would have to go or retire from the NFL. Not all bad players are put up for expansion drafts either. Sometime a team needing cap relief will unload a good player to purge his cap hit from their books.

Free agents are not made available in expansion drafts. There could be no such thing as a "FA drafted by London".

Based on the grueling nature of the schedule alone, any team in London would be at an immediate, instant disadvantage relative to the rest of the league. It would be much like the Saints during their 2005 season where they had no real home that year. They won 8 games in 2003 and 8 games in 2004. Then, without making any significant personnel changes, they only won 3 games in 2005.

Even a decent team with a lot of talent would fail in London. The fact that London would never be able to attract quality free agents would only enhance that.

I think a guy like Osi Umenyiora wouldn't mind playing in London, he was born there. Also, Andrew Luck lived in England for a while, if he hits free agency without being locked up I don't think he would be adverse to playing there.

No....England is predominantly soccer land. Any English fans of American football would be far better served making the trip HERE to enjoy the game as it should be presented and played.

What I meant was a player whose was going to be a FA.

Of course the player would be under contract or the team putting them up for the expansion draft could not control their rights.

The advantage London would have though is playing at home where the US opponent had to travel.
