this manner of thinking goes against the grain of a fan's 'patriot way' of thinking

you should really only be concerned with getting out of bed tomorrow morning

If you followed the Patriot Way, you wouldn't even go to sleep tonight. You'd be studying/working/practicing.

With the roster as is,there's no chance of that happening. How you can make a prediction like that before the offseason even starts is beyond me. Now if we have an offseason like '07 and add a playmaker on each side of the ball where it is sorely needed as well as a future HOF then we'll talk.

Because we are fans, not players or coaches and it's the off season, oh and is a discussion board.

this thread goes on JI and GG and is made fun of in 5.4.3.2...........

Jets fans are like the plop sound a turd makes in the toilet. It may make noise, but it's still crap.

could someone delete this thread, plz?

You can calm the undefeated or championship talk until the Patriots address the deficiencies on offense, defense and special teams.

This team was 1-3 against teams with winning records this year. Not saying they weren't a great team, but saying they can go 19-0 in this league, with that defense is nuts. Let them win a effing title first at least.

Sure it's a discussion board, I bet over on JI they could dream about 19-0 too next season if they wanted to.

If the following happens in the offseason, then we will go 19-0:

Sign/trade for a top WR, resign Welker.
Sign/trade for one more good WR (what Ocho should've been)

Sign/trade for a top Safety and a top CB

Spend the 2 1's and 2 2s on DL & OLB

Aww yeah, I'm in! Bring back the Belichick FU Roadshow! I was thinking this same exact thing today. After all the bs they received after this SB I cannot imagine how obsessed they are going to be next year. I think Belichick is going all in this year with free agency and the draft. And to those who say that's not how he does things, the only absolute about BB is that there are no absolutes.

Ever since 2007 I always root for the Pats to lose a game early on to get it out of the way. I don't ever want to go through that 2007 BS ever again. Don't get me wrong,I'd love the Pats to go undefeated. But the possibilty of them going undefeated in the regular season & losing in the playoffs makes me suicidal. The SB loss this year has nothing on the 2007 loss. What don't kill you can only make you stronger. Hopefully in NE's case this makes them stronger. The Pats will win their 4th SB very soon. They're so close.

I hear a sequel is in the making

Last thing i was is this team at 19-0 again going into playoffs

I want to be on board with this, but IMO this would mean Belichick would draft impact guys and sign impact player free agents. If there's any time to do so, it's now.

I want to watch the world burn next season.

I've got it! We elect the Billman.

I think the Pats will get between 12 -14 wins next year. I could see them losing the Ravens and the Texans games, and then possibly 1 or 2 division games. The Afc is the weaker conference now, and I see the Texans as the biggest challenge. The problem is that even if we make it to the Super Bowl, the Pats would probably be the weaker team. The Packers, Saints, & Giants all are more talented teams. Even the 49ers are on par with us now. 19-0 is not gonna happen, but I think we have a shot at returning to the big game.

Very intelligent post. Agree with everything you said. Texans are an emerging threat, and the hardest part - again - is going to be actually winning the Super Bowl. If the schedule is as weak as it seems, then New England's chances for getting home field advantage are going to make it very tough for anyone to knock them out of the AFC championship. But things are very loaded at the top of the NFC. So long as Brady continues to play at this level, the Patriots will always have a chance, but the margin for error has gotten thin. Gronkowski's injury alone in all reality all but made circumstances impossible for the Patriots to beat a great effort from the Giants. Hopefully the team can have one heck of an off-season.

I see that some posters on the PatsFans message board have not stopped drinking since the Super Bowl.

Well...the 72 dolphins did it after a SB loss. I doubt Brady can use this loss as any further motivation but i hope the young guys remember that feeling for a long time.

Okay you guys do know that the other 31 teams also get paid to play this game professionally right?

From your keyboard to God's monitor, but come on. I would love to get another SB. First, I would love to see us in the playoffs again -- see the things you take for granted? Okay since we're Pats fans, that's become almost a given. But haven't we learned that "I want" does not equate to "it will happen"?

I'm thinking 12-4, playoff berth... we go from there. And it's a hell of a ****y fanbase that can say that nonchalantly.

Agree w/you agreeing w/him for the most part, but Gronk's injury didn't make it "all but impossible" to win. It made it tougher. I am trying not to go down that road but a few plays go the other way and Tom's getting the ticker tape. Obviously the easiest one to remember is the Welker drop (and I don't want to start w/how terrible it is that the ball wasn't perfectly placed, he got both hands on it. Ask a receiver whether you're supposed to catch a ball that you get both hands on.) Point is, we were right there in a very evenly matched game, with two really good teams battling it out. Hated the outcome but that was a GOOD game.

okay all done

I agree. We need a deep threat that can work the sidelines, a corner, some work on the D-line, and we go 19-0 next year.

I can feel it.

Time to leave a trail of tears behind in the AFC.

History shows that a team that loses the SB dosen't fair very well the next year.
If Belichick dosen't use those first 4 draft picks on defense players from Alabama and LSU. I might take the year off from them anyway.

We will never win a SB so long as we continue to be the New England Colts.

And I don't want to hear about how few points we gave up.
All you have to do look at is the time of possesion. You can't score if you don't have the ball.
Giants defense and special teams beat us along with a few clutch plays on offense.
NY beat us the same way we use to beat the Colts and now we have become the Colts.
We come to the point in the playoffs where all the offensive plays must be clutch and not just a few.
We had an easy road to the Ship. With a relativley easy opponent. That won't happen again soon. The real defense won out again against the duct tape bailing wire defense.
Until we have a real defense I forsee a lot of 14-2 pain in the future.Or to stay in theme with the thread 18-1 pain.
