Didn't Brady say he'd rather get to the SB and lose than not get there at all?
Didn't he also say he wanted to play until he was 40?

I think this (Belichick retiring) is far more speculative than the whole 'Brady body language' speculation from a while ago; remember those assumptions and conclusions? Sorry, but Rapoport and the fans that agree with him are reading way too much into his press conference responses than they should, in my opinion.
I bet if you go back every year he says about the same thing. I thought I was paranoid.
BB is alot closer to this game than the sunny day fans who post here just occasionally and are bent out of shape at a loss.
He is rebuilding another dynasty and is about a year away from completing that task.
Give him a couple days to get the sour taste out of his mouth of that loss and geared up for the Combine and Draft Day.......
In BB WE Trust :rocker:

He also talked about how the combine was in 2 and a half weeks. I think that says something about how this organization and BB's mind work.
Possible he wants to finish his career living near his parents, wife and child in California? Sure he's also noticed that SF has the #1 defense in the NFL.
One should never say never, but frankly I can't imagine BB doing this to Bob Kraft, leaving the organization at this point in time.
Were you dropped on your head as a child? Brady is 34 years old and still in the prime of his career. If anything, this loss fuels his fire to compete even harder.I wouldn't be shocked to see BB or even Brady retire this offseason. I think this loss broke them. Listening to Rodney yesterday say how much SB42 haunted him and caused him to consider retirement, I wouldn't be shocked.
“The day after the game or an hour or two after the game is not the time to make any long-term decisions. I think it’s probably best that all of us – young players, old players, young coaches, old coaches – that we all take a little time to just catch our breath, collect our thoughts and try not to make any life-changing decisions coming off – either way; try to make those big decisions right on the tail end of big emotions in a game like that.”

I said he's still in the prime of his career and the season he just had should leave no doubt that he's got another 3 or 4 quality seasons left. Do they need to a more balanced approach? Probably but my original comment was directed at the insanity of saying Brady should retire. When is a QB reaching 35 years old in the prime of his career??
Make sure you weren't dropped on YOUR head!
Show me how many QBs have been championship QBs at this age?...John Elway is the only one that rings a bell.
Despite an outstanding season,Brady is on the downside of his career and if Belichick does not get him a stud running back like a Corey Dillon who can take over a game when Brady is not doing well, he can't keep up this 5,000 or even 4,000 yards passing streak....the time for Championships is closing by the year.
This team needs another Corey Dillon type destroyer runner before the Brady era has ended....Brady at 35 can't continue to carry the team,he needs help at RB and defense.
