In the presser last hour at Gillette....BB sounded very ominous via tweets from Pats reporters - these from @RapSheet:

Bill Belichick: "It's great to see our fans here when we pulled up. It says a lot about our fan base. Much appreciated by all of us."

Belichick says everyone will take time to consider future. Adds, "Young coaches, old coaches." That's interesting.

Belichick says of his schedule: "There's a lot of questions that you all can ask that I don't have the answers to." That's kinda strange.

Belichick sounded contemplative about his future. That's all. We'll see.

Could BB be thinking about hanging it up here? Is this as surprising and ridiculous as I think it is??

I don't think it means anything...but some fans might just get what they have been hoping for.

He also talked about how the combine was in 2 and a half weeks. I think that says something about how this organization and BB's mind work.

The man is fresh off a s.b loss. I wouldn't look too much into it.

I wouldn't be shocked to see BB or even Brady retire this offseason. I think this loss broke them. Listening to Rodney yesterday say how much SB42 haunted him and caused him to consider retirement, I wouldn't be shocked.

I bet if you go back every year he says about the same thing. I thought I was paranoid.

I think Rap is 1 and 1A with Bedard as far as Pats reporters, and that's why coming from him I think it holds a little more weight. I don't really picture him trying to make a story out of a non-story, that's all.

Any fans hoping for BB to walk should go be fans of another team.

Oh I agree. That comment was for all those so called fans who have said that the game has passed him by and it's time to move on.

BB and Brady are not retiring. I loved Harrison but he was constantly injured so I am sure that was also a huge part. BB can still coach and Brady can still play at a high level.

Also like someone said: BB is obviously upset and the last thing he wants to talk about is last nights game.

I think this one hurts a lot more than SB42. They literally had it in their hands and gave it away despite everything that happened in the first 30 minutes of spotting the Giants 9 points.

I think this one is more to do with evaluating the staff and seeing if they can be replaced by better coaches, old coaches (Pepper) young coaches (Patricia) etc...

Yeah, this is just how BB and Brady would want to go out.

A real dream scenario.

Didn't Brady say he'd rather get to the SB and lose than not get there at all?

^^ agreed.

I can't see him walking away now. We get into "brady's lost a step" talk, then maybe. IMO the two are tied together, and will go out together.

BB is smart he knows how hard it is to get to the SB and he's going to be 60 in a few months him and Brady are going to go out at same time and that 2 or 3 years at best

BB is alot closer to this game than the sunny day fans who post here just occasionally and are bent out of shape at a loss.

He is rebuilding another dynasty and is about a year away from completing that task.

Give him a couple days to get the sour taste out of his mouth of that loss and geared up for the Combine and Draft Day.......

In BB WE Trust :rocker:

I think this (Belichick retiring) is far more speculative than the whole 'Brady body language' speculation from a while ago; remember those assumptions and conclusions? Sorry, but Rapoport and the fans that agree with him are reading way too much into his press conference responses than they should, in my opinion.

Yeah, Patricia might not be feeling too secure at the moment. ...

Oh for the love of Gawd, some of you are nuts! They aren't going anywhere. If we take teh loss badly, just think how they feel. C'mon ppl!
