Crummy choice of concerts but great gesture by Ocho, regardless.

Not really, considering how popular and talented Jay-Z and Kanye West are. What kind of music do you listen to? Neil Diamond?

Are you getting offended by someone elses choice of music? Some people think rap is garbage, if Tunescribe doesn't like it you don't need to get defensive, lol. It IS his choice, regardless of what you may or may not think.

Bahaha. I'm not offended. I just find it humerous when someone, likely without knowing much about it, labels a band or anything for that matter as "crumby" and judges someone else for their feelings towards it.

When you criticize someone else's choice of music or concert (the way tunescribe did) at least point out that it's your opinion. And if you aren't familiar with whatever it is, your opinion isn't valid.

Then Tunescribe should have said "not my kind of concert" or "wouldnt have been my choice" but by saying something about it being a bad choice, he was doing the same thing

This. Ether was one of the best battle raps ever, stands up there with 'hit em up' and LL cool J's 'jack the ripper'. Nas also has arguably the greatest Rap album ever in Illmatic.

Jay's last good album was AG and he's been dumbing it down so long that when he made a good thought provoking concept album his core "fans" couldn't appreciate it so he went back to his commercial style.

I heard a 7 minute freestyle from like '96 with Big L and Jay-z. Big L absolutely destroys Jay-z in every facet and its not even close.

i dont want to get into this a pats fan board but The Marshall Matthers LP is the best rap album ever. In pure skill Eminem would destroy any rapper dead or alive

but when it comes to success, between the above you mention, Jay z destroys anyone. If He woke up with Nas's success, he'd kill himself.

As a musician myself, it's easy to admit that Kanye West and Jay-Z are very talented (which is why their albums together are such big hits).

In my experience, the type of people who spat at their music are older people where rap isn't their thing, or country people who are just into country music. Anyone educated about music can at least admit they are talented even if it's not their thing.

So my educated guess is that tunescribe either doesnt know a thing about their music/concerts, or he's just a country music fan (which discredits the opinion alltogether lol)

That's just crazy talk man.

Tunescribe can defend himself, but if you look at his username, he has mentioned here before that he writes for a music magazine, or puts out a music magazine;so I wouldn't say "likely doesn't know anything about"

well, since everyone has their own taste its hard to settle this argument, so the fact that its the highest selling rap album says I'm not so crazy.

Then hopefully he will be intelligent enough to admit the great talents that Jay-Z and Kanye West possess.

Settle down chief. Just playfully saying "that's crazy man". I think it's a good album, but it's certainly not the best just bc it's the best selling album...

I would think it would be safe to assume that someone who calls themselves a combination of the words "tune" and "scribe" to generally be a pretty knowledgeable person when it comes to music.

Yes, Kayne West and Jay-Z are very popular, well selling musicians. I like both of their music, but would never spend the money to go see them in concert. Far too cursory an experience for my taste, and if I want to see musicians I want to see something in a room not a stadium.

Respectable opinion.

By the way, that is simply incorrect.

I;m so settled down its not even funny.

I think Jay Z is the best ever, when you combime skill, business talent, Record lable, the most number 1 albums. The entire package is the best around.

I think Eminem has more talent than anyone, and I really dont think people with ears could argue against that.

I think Nas is straight up garbage.

IMO Jay-Z's sound while rapping is subpar when compared to other rappers out there today (Eminem, J Cole, etc) but he is brilliant as a producer, creatively, and finding good rap talents...He sure as hell knows what he's doing. However, I find myself only listening to songs where he has guests on them, and I find myself looking forward to their verses rather than his.

Agreed about Eminem. He's uber talented...You ever heard his verse on "No Love"? It's absurd.

And yeah, Nas sucks.

Well, you must have just looked it up or else you would have said something about it in the other post. I was going off of memory, but I just looked it up and its the top selling rap album in the United States, and by the way, Number 2? Also Eminem

anyway, I dont care to talk about this on a FOOTBALL message board. Rap is dead any way.

YEs, I love No love, he just makes little Wayne Seem silly in that song.

Country grammar sold more than reasonable doubt.

If Nas woke up with Jay's lyrical content he'd kill himself.

Re: Ocho rents buss and drives Team to concert

I think the hate for Ocho stems from something even other than his production...

I was listening to 98.5 after the game sunday thinking theyd at least give Ocho props for a positive game...and of course, the radio guy was saying that Ocho looked horrible and that his catches didnt matter

sure, it was on a broken assignment. but one of Branches came on broken assignment as well(caused by the no huddle they showed this on VS how a CB couldnt get into position in time for the snap causing Branch to get the first down

id love to see Ocho finally succeed here, just for teh sake of the Pats...because they could definitely use his skillset

Even if Ocho can just repeat that performance, its going to be a help - he's not completely irrelevant anymore. They need to be mindful of him. That's a big and positive change, and it only takes a few passes caught to make that happen.
