Mike Francesa And D Revis

Thats your opinion and since it wasn't called. I would say its a bad one ;)

You should probably watch the play again then. Defenders are not allowed to grab the offensive player's shirt from the backside and then pull.

That's a penalty, even inside 5 yards, and even on a running play.

Just because it wasn't called doesn't mean it wasn't pass interference. You watch every game every week and you will find plenty of penalties not called. It doesn't mean they shouldn't have been called.

The fact of the matter is Revis gets away with a lot of more than most CBs do. In fact, he gets away with far more than the CB lined up opposite him does by a mile.

The point is moot. Game is over, there was no Penalty called on it.. So you both (bobo and dus) can increase your post counts but the face is, it wasn' called for a reason..

Francesca just stated that the Jets PR guy called him back and apologized for having Revis hang up.

When no calls are ever missed, and no non-calls are ever falsely called, you'll have a point.

Since that's not currently the case, you've got none.

Francesa is STILL SLAMMIN Revis after Jets hung up on him. lol Then Mike says oh well only jet who likes me is mad now I'm out of Jet players who like me and I can interview. lol

classic! :rocker:

Fits with Deus' NBA comparison. Player A drives to the basket in an NBA game. Players B and C hack the crap out of him. Player B is Lebron James. The foul is called on Player C. The non-stars on a superstars team often get more fouls called on them as a result of being alongside a guy who gets preferential treatment.

The refs are afraid to whistle Revis. They aren't afraid to whistle Cromartie.

This is actually good news, because it could draw more attention to the problem of Revis and the favoritism officials show him.

Hopefully that is the case.

Well, it's gotten PFT coverage, and Francesca is still talking about it on his show. There's no way the league won't hear about it.

They'll likely ignore it unless more attention is brought to the issue, but it's a start.

So are you saying that in the AFC Championship Game in 2006 when Ellis Hobbs was flagged for a penalty that no longer existed in the rule books (which the NFL later apologized for), there was a legitimate reason for the call? If a defender hits Brady with a helmet to helmet hit a second after he throws the ball and the defender isn't flagged (which has happened before). it the correct call because it wasn't called for a reason?!? Sorry, but just because you are an NFL novice doesn't change the fact that players get away with non-calls every week. Some worse than others.

Before you start throwing around insults, you should analyze the stupidity of your argument.

To be perfectly honest, I think Cromartie gets flagged too much (at least in the Raiders' game this year) almost like it is make up calls for Revis.

Revis isn't the only player who get the star treatment. But he does get it. Brady has in the past been overprotected by the refs getting favorable roughing the passer calls. Randy Moss got away with pushing off a lot while he was here. It happens to most stars in skill positions. To be perfectly honest, I don't really care that Revis gets star treatment since he isn't the only one, but people need to acknowledge when he gets that treatment.

Along this vein, and as a follow up, Francesca just said that he's already heard from Revis' agent and was told that Revis didn't want to end the interview.

What a P.R. gaffe for the Jets.

I didn't think the contact on this play was as flagrant as most of Revis' plays, but he did grab the jersey near the neckline and tug him a little about 15 yards downfield. There was a penalty there but one that often gets missed with any CB.

I think the reason he gets away with this is because he seems to have tremendous arm strength and can affect these recievers with very short bursts of contact. He doesn't latch onto a guy for 3 seconds, but more like 1 second. But he'll do that several times on the same play. He also has good speed even though it doesn't look like it - e.g., way faster than Ty Law was.

The main reason for this INT, however, seemed to be a horrible throw. It looked like Marshall was PO'd on the sideline at the throw.

The Jets just issued a public statement on the issue.

The hilarious part is that Revis/The Jets just made this a MONUMENTALLY bigger story. Idiots.

I don't know which is more impressive not getting a ball thrown his way or a flag. A good corner should be able to mask penalties but there's always the jumbo-tron.

Do home teams control what's viewed on the jumbotron? I'm sure owners don't want a blockbuster replay of their players mugging receivers left n right in plain view for the refs to see.

Revis is still a great corner but Dion Sanders is the bar in that area hands down. Dion was a ball hawk, I'm not sure if he was known as a mugger but if anyone else does i'd like to here.
