Maybe the network could have Archie and Eli stop by the booth during the broadcast and ask 'em how that Giants thing is workin' out.

It's looking more and more that the Mannings are football's first family of ego-centric neanderthals: outstanding individual talent (for Archie and Peyton, anyway) but no appreciation whatsoever that football is a T-E-A-M sport.

Great teams become great because they play well together as a ... team.

Feel sorry for Peyton Manning?

Seems to be working out just fine for the Chargers. Just turn on the Pro Bowl to see the guys (draft picks) that the Giants gave up, Rivers, Kaeding and Merriman.
Then again, it worked out pretty well for SD the last time they traded away a top pick QB in Michael Vick. In return they got the draft picks that were used on Drew Brees, LT and Reche Caldwell......

I will not feel bad for Manning when the Colts problems revolve around the fact that they have spent all there money surrounding him with talent to boost his stats.

Sure Brady has a better defense.

But Brady doesn't have remotely close to the weapons that Manning does n offense.

Manning would still pout if his best receiver was a career 4th receiver and he had one year to work with him.

Sorry Manning. You wouldn't have your stats if they could afford a defense.

When I first saw this thread I wasn't sure I should post because I thought my pleasure at seeing Manning lose this way was perhaps too over the top, but seeing others responses, I see I am not alone. I hate the Colts and will root for them (esp. Manning) never to win a superbowl. I hate how they run up the score against defenseless opponents. I especially hate how on virtually every incomplete pass play, each and every member of the team, from the whiny QB and receiver, to every player and coach on the sideline, makes the sign for a flag. It's disgusting. I hate their ridiculous GM who is so out of control in trying to control a superbowl win by his team, that he is a caricature. I hate Manning's face and his "C'mon, I deserve this!" attitude. I hope they lose every game they play. There I said it, and all on Christmas Day. Please forgive me football karma gods.

Great summary of how many of us feel about the Colts...Thanks and Merry Christmas

God, I loved watching Peyton's little crybaby look when he walked off our field, knowing that his team got their asses handed to them for the first time by us in a whole five years. I cannot tell you people how sweet it was to get a win off the Colts. And how we got destroyed by the Pats but beat the Jags twice and beat the Colts is beyond me.

Oh, and awesome win today, I hate the Jaguars too and was happy to see the Pats pull that one out as well. The games today were perfect for me, Merry Christmas everyone!

TexansFan: I'm really happy to hear it, and hope you make this into a twice-annual tradition. :)

Thanks for the well wishes, and Merry Christmas to you as well.

And, just because it's so much fun . . . here's a Simpsonesque Christmas carol for you (sorry it doesn't rhyme):

Jingle Bells, Peyton stinks,
The Colts laid an egg,
Oh what fun it is to watch
Manning's "loser face"!

Thats funny,AV.I only had a glimpse of Manning on a recap show, what was he doing re the sideline fit?

My apologies as well to the football Gods because I feel exactly the same way.

Happy Christmas, Deb! And Happy Christmas, DisgracedTexansFan. You see, there IS a Santa Claus!

Thank you, Deb for pointing out what I most dislike about the Colts, the culture of entitlement and poor sportsmanship that goes with it. (I think I'd except their OC -- he seems pretty cool to me.)

(By the way, the next time we have a discussion of soccer and how soccer players pantomime their way to penalties, some of you need to see how universal the attempt to draw flags is in the NFL. Wouldn't it be great if penalties for pantomiming (Unsportsmanlike Conduct) were called in the NFL? Much more worth-while than trying to limit touchdown celebrations.)

Feel sorry for the Mannings:confused:NO FREAKEEN WAY!!!!Why should we.Rules where change for them.It change the game forever.Football is about DEFENSE.....You can only go so far with offense....Eli,he know he getting paid it dosen't matter win or lose.....Paymeton....(I LIKE THAT:D )he is the DAN MARNIO,but Dan been to a superbowl....Colts is not ever going to SB......it all by PAYMETON MANNING!!!!GO PATS!!!!!:rocker:

you gotta feel for manning after todays game...he brings his team back from 14-0 down to tie the game and his defense cant stop anyone...we all know how frustrated brady gets when we dont play well..imagine how much frustration manning could be feeling watching his defense....this is no brady/manning comparison but the pressure he has to face to cover up his defense must be enormous..

i know he took the money and they didnt spend on defense etc...but that answers a lot of our front office's managment of not paying branch and paying seymour even though seymour is a much better player. it reflects on the mindset of the front office

lot of us have criticized the pats mgmt for not keeping the receivers and all that stuff but iam glad we have players on both offense and defense instead of just purely offensive team like the colts..
and dungy ? nice guy , not such nice a coach...

thoughts ?

No...not at all..as a matter of fact when I saw it put a HUGE smile on my face....

What most here said. I will never root for Peyton Manning.

I don't feel sorry for Manning at all. What he did is come up short. If you put yourself in a position to lose by a figgie then you deserve to lose when the other team makes that field goal. Peyton Manning doesn't need our pity. Peyton Manning and the Colts as a team need to play better if they intend to win any further ballgames.

Yes I'm sure the Colts budget allotment has something to do with the state of their pitiful run D. But I think it's also their philosophy of smaller faster players. In the playoffs and in Decemeber that kind of team just doesn't hold up well against physical play and the run game.
