Now that Warren got snubbed for the probowl its time Belichick and Pioli give him an extension, we might not get lucky next year and he could get voted in. Sign him while his value is lower!!!!

He's already signed through 2008.

It's way too early for them to do anything but I'd love them to add a year or two to Warren and Wilfork.

The NFL doesn't work like that. You can't extend every player that plays well.

There is a good chance Warren would not agree to an extension because like you he realizes his value could go up in the coming months, so why would he sign an extension while his value is still down? Players aren't stupid.

Extensions can be detrimental to both the team and the player. Maybe the player's play tails off after the extension for whatever reason, which has happened this year with Ike Taylor, or a player ends up getting a contract that is way too low because they didn't wait it out and let their value rise.

There is no chance.

For the Pats to do it, he would have to sign a deal way below his FA value.
For Warren to do it, it would take Semour $.

There is no common ground to be found this far away from his FA year.

Don't worry, Warren will be a Patriot for a long time. We all know Belichick values his defensive line. Warren will probably be the next Patriot to be "taken care of".

Did Scott tell you that or are you just pulling that out of your butt. There are enough rumors on this board, don't need more.

It's not a rumor. Any Pats fan knows Belichick values his defensive line.

Valuing a defensive line and signing a guy to an extension two years prior to the end of his contract are two separate things... I value Warren, however as far as priorities to this season, leading to next there are quite a few things in between that need addressing. Unless his agent comes in and agrees to something very pats friendly and under market value.

I never said he was going to be signed to an extension two years before his contract was up, I was just saying there's no worries about him leaving.

What you said was:

which is an ill founded rumor, you base the rumor on BB valuing his defensive line, it makes no sense to say what you said..

I know what I said. I don't need you to show me. That is not a rumor. A rumor would be me saying " warren WILL be signed to a 5 year 35 million dollar deal tomorrow". I said probably. Why do I say this? Because Belichick values his defensive line, therefore I believe Warren will eventually get a contract. Do you need everything spelled out for you? Wheres Tom Jackson when you need him?

We are 10 and 4. Why are people so jumpy on this board all of a sudden? An opinion that Warren will PROBABLY be the next patriot to be taken care of is just an opinion. No one is claiming this to be fact. Can't people express opinions on this board anymore without being given the third degree?
