Six corners seems an excessive use of roster space, given that we could certainly use the position elsewhere. I suspect that we need three corners and a backup, for a total of four. Certainly, we often carry five, if one is developmental or a top special teamer. Six is overkill. Two of the six will be inactive almost every game.
OPTION 1 - We are trying to trade Butler
OPTION 2 - The position is an illusion. It will be gone when we make another addition or two elsewhere.
OPTION 3 - One of the corners will play a major role at safety.
OPTION 4 - The corner position is so important that the extra insurance is needed.
OPTION 5 - One of the positions is being held by one of our kick returners.
